DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

My main and most favorite weapon right now is the Espada Ropera. It's really good because all of its attacks are thrust attacks and combined with the phantom range it can be really annoying for opponents to deal with, ofc its primarily a dex weapon. I also use the murukumo tho that takes alot of skill to use really, after one swing my stamina is already at half

I use Espada Ropera too, but in an online setting wide swings are probably far better. Rapiers are good for setting up GBs though. If you don't fuck up your inputs that is. I get really happy when I see someone who shield turtles that fish cause I can usually just riposte them to death.
The Foot Soldier's Sword is like the Rapier and Longsword put together.
It basically has a rapier's moveset for it's R2's and a longsword for it's R1's. I first saw the moveset in Oroboro's playthrough and it was an instant fav.

Darklurker is a melee guys worst enemy.......
If you say so... when I did this on my hex character I stuck to my club, only occasionally finding the space for a resonant soul. It's close range attacks are super-easy to dodge, where as it's long range attacks require you to move around.
anyway for the pvp doods here how do you handle mages with MLGS with CM buff on it? its insane. Its the highest damaging weapon in the entire game and in pvp 1-3 hits will most likely kill you. It's just even worse that lately in iron keep im seeing alot of people flocking to this build and its the one i had most trouble with.
All I can advise is getting better at rolling. By no means am I saying it's balanced or anything, but either greatswords of any kind are pretty predictable or I haven't come across anybody who knows how to use Moonlight Greatsword well I guess, probably both. It's certainly not my greatest fear, even for my dual-Dagger character... Roll through, get the poison, maintain pressure, finish them off because poison never quite does enough damage... done! With the stun-locking in this game being the way it is, you have to learn to not get hit.
You can still summon after beating a boss, that's why. The boss is already dead, so they've just changed areas.

Isn't Shortsword also like that, but with better stats and scaling?
I've not seen this list before... where did you find it? A lot of this sounds awful...
"Soul Greatsword casting time revised." Why? It's already ridiculously easy to roll through and very punishable.
"Healing spell casting speed adjusted to be slower." But it's already incredibly slow on most chimes. Healing is the only thing Mace of the Insolent can actually do anyway, without that it's even more unusable...
"Defense of Lucatiel, Bellclaire, Benhart and Tark increased." But that was the challenge. Those achievements feel like actual achievements because they're so terrible... particularly Lucatiel.
"Health of exploding undead reduced." That, again, is the challenge. These are the only enemies in the game that actually keep me on my toes at all... maybe those stone soldiers when they get going, and of course Shrine of Amana, but then...
"Homing capability of spells casted by White Undead Sorcers and Amana Priestesses reduced." I don't understand why we're making the game easier... It's already easier than the first.
And then all this boss stuff... ugh, I hope some of this stuff isn't true, but some of it sounds good at least... Old Sun Ring can get fucked, and not being able to buff Moonlight Greatsword might mean I get to fight something else for change.

It sucks not being able to pop a humanity (or any consumable for that matter) in PvP as an invader in this game, even more so because Estus is so powerful in this game xD I don't want never ending PvP sessions like Demon's Souls but still...

That's what I said earlier...
Token of Spite should be replaced by Lloyd's Talisman, or should give you an effect like Profound Still, but for Estus.

From's website, in Japanese, was translated by somebody. Vaati linked it on Twitter.

SGS's speed is improved, apparently, not decreased.
Agreed.
Yeah keeping Luca alive is what made it feel fun, though a bit boring just tanking with the SenpaiNoticeMe Ring.
Agreed.
Not sure. My partner had the worst time trying to get through Amana today. Nearly made him rage quit. Of course his entire repertoire is "Hexes/Enchanted Falchion" so, there's that.
Boss thing is absolutely dreadful.

Buff quality builds pls
Yes plz

What's a quality build?
Basically a build that uses weapons that scale with Strength and Dex. The most common quality build is the 40/40 build, 40 strength and dex. Can use most weapons in the game too for a good variety. Also most quality builds do not use magic and use medium armor although these are not stipulations to the build, there will be exceptions.

doing guard breaks has gotta be one of the most satisfying things in PvP. and speaking of guard breaks, i finally encountered my first thorn ring wearer.....not a fan of it. i broke his guard and instead of riposting i decided to R1 him of the edge of the arena only to get shot with a thorn and save him. i haven't used the thorn ring yet, but i do use the old sun ring sometimes and i find the sun ring much more fair since there's a glow and it's easy to dodge.

I finally have run into someone using the thorn ring, the thorns missed me though... xD

You should just put Thorns and Sun on, free stupid damage for anyone that dares attack you. There is so much dumb shit in this game.

The most fun I ever had with this game, the thing that stands out the most in my memory, is my first time through Amana. My first character was Caestus/Greatsword, with no ranged ability at all, and I never compromise my build... it was so frustrating.
I didn't find the second bonfire for quite a while, and learning that you can't really roll through the spells took some time too. Eventually I mastered snaking through, sprinting to the side to avoid them. The satisfaction from those gasps, the bond I formed with Felicia the Brave, how long I tormented the healer priestess who can't attack... That's what this game should be about.
I want every area to be that, including Majula.

Oh and, just remove that little platform so you can't burn the windmill, then we'll talk about lowering a boss's'ss health.

i don't get what's so compromising about including a bow into a build. you're using a greatsword, surely you have the dex to use even the short bow. i've always carried a bow, even back in DS1, it's one of the most useful weapons anyone could (and should) have.

I'm a themer, and Garjian doesn't use a bow. Some of my other character archetypes do, he doesn't. He can't actually--doesn't know how--has terrible aim.
If I really, really had to, he might be able to use a crossbow... maybe.

What's the point in making different characters if, when you hit a wall, you do the same thing with all of them?
It turns them into a single homogeneous grey blob as you end up having the same experience with each one, never changing your mindset to suit the strengths and weaknesses of the character.

Did it myself today. It's basically Dark Souls Bullet Hell mode, but it was a lot of fun. Not ashamed to admit I sniped off a few or the more asshole priestesses, but hey what're poison arrows for?

Felicia? I was hollow anyway, but I'm guessing she's in that little house.

i've always carried a bow

Same, I like my versatility. And poison arrows. Man I fucking love poison arrows.

Saying that I do put limits on different characters to make it more fun - Faithchar isn't going to be using a bow, whereas my Dex one will. And my super, two-shield tank guy just runs at things to death so...
