Terom was mostly about coloring right, adding balance to it was really important, since there weren't many ways to make he jump out. So yes, like you observed I tried to keep the shirt shaped with other things.

The thing about the headgear, I was actually trying to emulate a veil, so I tried to keep everything as much as close as possible, to look like as a whole , this is why I favored the Fairy Curls, because the small locks would serve as a breaker to the stillness of the bow+flower.
You know, I thought about making the whole thing with fishnet, but I tried to rescue a little of Setsuka stocking back in SC IV.
The whole idea was to make her a person in eternal mourning, the adept sleeves didn't worked and I wanted her to be as much modest as possible, so the long gloves allowed me to make a little bit of an Opera Singer feeling. Also do remember, she spend a lot of time in graveyards, so anything too flashy would offend the people mourning. ;)
The "sunglasses" are because she is a Diva,lol, no really: I forgot to add that Meiquers, that is a anagram on the word Requiem, (Which is actually a real kind of funerary music.) have those yellowish eyes, even so she is hiding from her brother, so I guess there is that. Both names have meaning, Arcana Requiem, may mean Magic Song of Mourning, while Terom is death in Portuguese backwards,

Actually I thought about this, the first incarnation had Arcana wearing green\pink\black and Terom purple\black\golden and not this aristocratic vest at all, it was a heavy armor.
But making both opposites seemed a bit overused, so I decided in to keep both in the same line.

Also, I am thinking in making at least more two characters for this story, so keep it posted haha.

Ah, the opera gloves really fit into context now. The eternally mourning aspect is really intriguing. I'm gonna look into making a veil out of stickers, if that's even possible. The yellow eyes concept also has alotta potential. Maybe you could do without the shades and say that she's learned how to repress her powers. That way, when under stress, her powers manifest again, but only in one eye. That would be really cool. I like how your stories enrich your CaS. When I have the time, I'll probably try making Arcana.

Well, as promised, I'll comment on your gallery...

I really enjoy how your characters seem to exist in their own world and the way you give descriptions/stories for each character invites us into this world. And as well as your knack for fantasy, you have a 'voice' behind your CaS, something which brands them as your own and not somebody else's. I think it's the way they all have an understated class and elegance to them, in that they often appear regal and somehow important. There is also a gothic influence to a lot of your creations.

I'll just name a few of my favourites:
Gabrielle - she is just bursting with personality and charisma; she looks wonderfully mischievous and endearing. Also, she shows your gothic influence at its finest - you've kept it as only a subtle influence, which really makes her unique and stops her from resembling some generic, Lolita-esque character. Great work.
Jessica - again, you combine elegance and fantasy very well here.
Terom - his striking, androgynous design, with its sinister undertones, makes him very interesting to look at. Personally, I would have made his boots slightly darker to draw more attention to his pale face and the orange highlights in his outfit, but that's just me.
The 3P costumes at the start of page 7 - there are some really nice concepts here. I'd love to see some colour on that Pyrrha edit too - she looks so much like something from Alice in Wonderland, think Queen of Hearts, and I reckon that adding some bold colour would really bring her to life.

It's impressive how much you've improved as an artist since you first started making CaS. So I'll try and give you a bit of constructive criticism...

In general, you produce some very nice stuff, but you're not always consistent. A few of these characters look somewhat unfinished to me. There's always, without failure, a solid concept behind each of your CaS, but quite often I feel like your vision doesn't get completely realised. Perhaps if you're struggling to complete a character, it would be worth waiting some time and then re-visiting the character another time with a fresh mind.

Try to avoid having large amounts of 'block colour' - i.e. large areas with no patterns or texture - even subtle patterns that are barely even noticeable will often help polish an unfinished design, as will texture mapping through pocket stickers, etc.

Finally, some of your CaS could use a stronger sense of 'coherence'. In other words, I love the individual patterns and motifs you use in your characters, but sometimes they don't all fit together seamlessly. It's great how you come up with unique ways of using stickers, but be wary of accidentally making them look out of place. If you have a concept behind a character, try and make that concept flow through the character from head to toe. For example, with Knight-Maria, the combination of metal armour and cloth is nice, but there's no transition throughout her lower half. Her flared skirt, bare legs and bulky leg armour contrast each other and make her silhouette look kind of strange; these parts just don't fit together. To make her look more natural, I'd recommend less bulky boots, possibly ones that go higher up to avoid showing her bare knees, or perhaps a different skirt.

Overall, great work and I hope to see you improve even further.

It's Valice's younger sister, Camellia.

Well you did this for me, so here goes...

Her clothes look fairly expensive, especially with the hints of gold, and the fact that she has Ivy's style gives her a dignified composure. And of course there's the monocle. However, the expensive items are subtle, so I don't think she's much of a snob; perhaps her class isn't a huge part of her identity.

Well the gothic design and snake imagery definitely give this character a sinister undertone, yet I'd hesitate to see her as 'evil'. Mainly because of the dark pink highlights, and her deep red lipstick, which introduce a certain femininity and would usually be associated with passion, or even lust.

However, the black heart motif suggests some kind of hollowness. As though she is a passionate woman who can no longer love. I would therefore guess that she's a widow who is still grieving the loss of her husband. She looks dressed for a funeral, and that makes her fit in with the theme of eternal mourning which I know you're interested in. The expensive items could be part of the riches she inherited from her late husband.

Edgar Valentine-
One of the five general heroes of the Roseta War (This was erupted after the even Arcana and Terom killed each other, after this event took place it was uncovered that the Meiquer family was the one coordinating the revival of the fallen warriors, their mom Annette fled for the house of Fallaenl, the head of the house Argelos took her in, Liesloth came back to her military life, and along with the house of Fallaenl, Meiquer and the royal family started a riot against any kind of resistance against the old rites. Roderich became an ally of the resistance, even with his mental instability he is under Valentine division. Lydya was able to flee from Argelos, but was badly injured, Antoinette found her and was able to treat her injuries, Antimony promising retribution sided with the resistance, he is the chief of the spying and information division. And that @brucege is how I connected all this CaS stories I hope you like where this is going. PS sorry for the plot holes I just made this right now, hehe.) Edgar's family died because of an undead attack, after the reasons behind the existence of the undead were revealed he left the Royal's family guard and started an small army to take down the king. 30 years.


Sylphe Valente
Head of the medical division, Sylphe was granted with purification powers, as two holy Greek warriors known to have vanished 27 years ago, don't be fooled by her appearance, she is 38, her aging was slowed down after being infected by evil energy, she purified, most of it. While kind, she is very practical and will only treat the ones who are really in need.


Evrao Larmoth-
An young guy, in touch of his girly side, paired up , unwilling, with Celes a tomboy, together they make a really odd pair, but both are trusted and they are part of the "cleaning" of areas, destroying undead enemies and building forts, Evrao is an orphan and look up to Sylphe as whole model. 17 years.

Celes Phyra-
Albeit her tomboy demeanor Celes was raised like a princess, she does not deal well with her companion Evrao, she is a cunning girl, she saved Evrao in a record of 3-1, which she is always more than happy to remind him, she have a secret crush on Edgar, but she does not let it out. 17 years.


Eleonorra Festim-

King's guard level 2, she serves as a spy for the king, but she is not infiltrated, she is skilled enough to keep up with both Evrao and Celes, the three kind have a rivalry, she was actually the one who called Evrao girly boy and Celes a tomboy, the score is 3-2 in her favor. 23 years.


Amallia Rose-
King's guard level 3, she is a mercenary, she fought with Roderich sometimes, but was never able to have the upper hand.

@brucege don't feel trolled, she just thought her clothing were too plain D:

Ellaine Memoir-

King's Guard Lv 4, demons walk alongside humans, and have a limited life spam, then their soul either achieve nirvana or go back the circle of reincarnation, always they reincarnate as demons, she took Tyr as her son, she is very rich, and no one but Tyr know her status as a demon, due to her magical talent she was named as King's guard Lv4, due to her unknown alignment King's guard Lv 2. 40 years old. (Still fit due to demon stuff)

Note: King's guard "Lv" don't involve power or hierarchy, but division's head


Tyr Larmoth-

Ellaine was about to kill him after destroying his village, but due to a compassion surge she took he in, but he was 10 when she took he in, so he knows what she did, but repressed, he just remember her saving him from poverty, Tyr don't trust her, even when she is extremely motherly to him, even he is scared when her protective side come to play.

Edgar: Nice to see you making warrior CaS nowadays. I like the design. A nimble and swift skirmisher type CaS. I do have a question though, if you don't mind me asking. Is he homosexual? The open abdomen and the bright turquoise scarf seems to suggest it. If his family was killed by undead, I expect he'll have to kill them again (as zombies) in the future for extra drama and manly tears.

Sylph: Veery nice. That lil' corset looks great. I like how you layered the pocket and helix stickers to make the flaps and the strings. More importantly, you tied it together with the ribbon SpecEq. One of the most important CaS techniques is to combine bump mapping with real equipment to avoid the appearance of flatness.

Evrao: Reminds me alot of FF13-2 Noel. A surprising punkish design for a boy in touch with his feminine side. The belt is pretty nifty too. Turquoise seems to be a recurring color here. Is this the primary color for the Resistance?

Celes: I like how you extended the skirt onto the shirt and the breastplate. Makes a cool off-shoulder battle dress. That stripe along the bottom is also cool. Matches the grey on the sleeves. Short hair is appropriate for a tomboy. I love tsundere tomboy characters. Like Casca from Berserk. Unfortunately, their romances tend toward the tragic for some reason. Like their lover dying....or worse as for the example above.

Eleonorra: Did you add a gradient pattern to the belt flower? Makes a cool orchid-like effect.

Amallia: Very Cassandra-like. Interesting that you give her a visor. Is she supposed to be a mystery character or is she hiding some secret? And what's she doing fighting with Roderich? Sparring? I thought they were on the same side.

Ellaine: Wow, that is beautiful. Definitely a new favorites of mine. I think she could use a little more detailing, like eliminating (or mitigating) the sharp angles. Possibly some ribbon stickers or waist equipment. I really like how the pocket sticker makes a kind of sheer fabric extension to the corset. The hair ornament is awesome. Reminds me of FF8 Edea. Love the Gothic fashion. Also appropriate, given her close association with demons and magic. What happened to her old version? I remember seeing some good ideas on that one too. Possible subject for Mirror Match thread.

Larmoth: Not digging this one as much. I do appreciate the color contrast, but I don't think the purple goes that well with the green here. You should also look into using the bump mapped eye sticker to carve out the vest. Maybe using some SpecEq to add an epic shirt collar to him, like a centurion plume or raccoon tail. The little feather ornament on the top hat is elegant though. Interesting background. Mommy issues never bode well.



Edit: I may have a new King's Guard CaS soon. The badass veteran type. Female, of course. Think you'd be able to fit her in your story?

The interesting thing, is when I finished him and Sylphe, I ended up thinking you guys would think "Ship Bait." He is not, his scarf is that color because I needed to break the overall under saturation and blandness of the design. I like your theory about the dead family. :D

The thing with Evrao, was to make those half pants usable, I was sitting for long time thinking....need more classiness, yes I agree but the weapon and face kind build up for the girlishness.

Celes, she was supposed to be an archer.....but I suck at it D: But yah, he have hidden feelings, but the girl won't stop saying how dreamy is Edgar :P

I wanted to be subtle, but yes, most of the resistance use at at least one item with the color, but is not mandatory, is more up to each person.

Dude, Ellaine was so complex to pull together, I am really glad you like it, first, I wanted the spider web (Reference to her demon nature.) to hide in plain sight, I needed the flower hairpiece to work as a hint too, hey pretty flower....with shark dark appends of DOOOM, at this point you can say flowers and ribbons are my main Speceq piece, so is hard to try and not get old with them :P
But dude....I am proud of myself, I really like the result.

You can't win it all, hehe, Larmoth is manly based on Alois Trancy, believe or not, it was very strange to me to work around the colors used here, I wanted to have hints of his mommy here, something like the shark detail in the hat and the spider web, something like "F**** with him and you soul will be obliterated, *fingers snaps*"

So far you've only released the story in bits and pieces, but what I've seen I've enjoyed. I'm a huge "shipper" so I'll have alot to look forward to, especially concerning Evrao and Celes. Now that it's all in one place, I can take a much closer look at it. And yes, Ellaine has placed you as the 8WR official expert on Victorian/Gothic fashion. As for Larmoth, Alois makes purple/green work by really lowering the saturation. You shouldn't give up on him yet.

One of the Five legendary Generals, Faustos much like Ellaine is a demon, Faustos is extremely friendly and a good demon by heart, (the thing about the demons is, they are not evil, nor they are true demons, they just reicarnete in a humanoid race that have either magical powers or physical powers beyond any human, old rites call then demons.) much like Ellaine Faustos is tired of the reincarnation circle, and is now searching for Nirvana, much like Ellaine he have an adopted son, that he act curiously flirt toward the said son, he is very caring to all his soldiers, and his "son" (Which he adopted when joined the Resitance by the age of 19, thus making his flirting not freaky.), he calls his "son" little cub. Age 45


Ray "Feloz" Vraty-

After joining the Resistance Ray was told a powerful warrior was to train them all, when a big man calling them all cubs and saying they dd not knew how to fight yet, Ray got angry, defying Faustos to a match, which Faustos accepted, by the condition that Ray would be adopted and be called by Faustos little cub, and if Faustos were to lose Ray would no longer be called cub and would be a chief of his own branch.... To the boy horrors the giant did put a big fight...by doing nothing, he punched Faustos for an entire day, fainting in exhaustion. Ray dislikes Faustos attitude toward him because how flirt it it....and because Ray actually enjoys a little.

Estor Rotes-
He is the bodyguard of the princess, he is a ruthless warrior, not much is know about his past, but he have a taste for cold meat....fresh cold meat. Age unknown.

Pietrom Verflem-
A prince with no luck, one would think by being in a royal family, at the very least one's safety would be guarantee, not when your father is crazy, Pietrom hates his family, and the several scars on his face are a constant reminder of such. Age 20


Rillyanne Verflem-
Pietrom's older twin sister, because she was a girl her father wouldn't do anything to her, raised to believe in the truth of the old rites she grew with them, she is neutral to the war, but since her father's death she became more ruthless, she is extremely affectionate with her brother. Age 20

NOTE- @brucege did challenge us with his gothic lolita, since he like the style I did put effort here haha.

I really like this latest set. You're starting to branch out a little, trying some new and different things; I like the results.

Trell: The color balancing is good. The blue brings out the undershirt while connecting the white and gold portions of the design. However, I can't tell what that golden ring on the helmet is supposed to be. Perhaps use a couple bolts or feathers of strength to add some detail to the chestplate. I do like how his helmet covers his eyes. It suits him since he's supposed to be a shady character. You might be able to get the same kind of effect by using an open face helmet and covering them with feathers of strength.

Faustus: An interesting barbarian design. He keeps it manly with his bare chest, bone armor, and spikes. Couple suggestions. The turqoise cape kinda detracts from his manliness. Try turning it black or something and adding in blue highlights usingstickers or SpecEq. The spikes on the shoulders stretch the design a bit too horizontally. You can "close in" the design by turning those spikes inward (towards the center of the chest). This will also give the chest a little armor to balance the heavy armoring on the limbs.

Ray: A promising asymmetrical design. You have a cool idea going on with the chain and the shoulder plate, but should consider using that quiver to connect the shoulder plate and the chest. You might also be able to add a small chest plate using SpecEq (like the bolt) or stickers. His design also resembles Faustus's alot. Red pants and bare chest. This aspect syncs with the story nicely.

Estor: Very unique. Like a Voldo alt. As a mysterious character character, it's also appropriate to keep his eyes covered. Cool decorations on the belt using the bones too. Possibly torn directly from his victims.

Pietrom: A solid, princely character. His ornate shoulder armor and belt show that he's got some money. This contrasts with the scars on the face. Apparently all that money didn't do much to protect him. It's possible that he's really brave and likes charging straight into battle. That or his crazy father does a shit job of managing his subjects, leading to rebellion and eventual assassination attempts on the prince.

Rillyanne: Do I smell forbidden love?!? Cersei X Jaime style? We'll see. The grid pattern on the gown's an interesting choice. Is this inspired by Ashlotte? This is also the first time I've seen the bridal crown used as an actual crown. Overall a very pretty Gothic Lolita chara.

Apparently all that money didn't do much to protect him. It's possible that he's really brave and likes charging straight into battle. That or his crazy father does a shit job of managing his subjects, leading to rebellion and eventual assassination attempts on the prince.

The idea is somewhat yes, but not that much, I know a crown :D

In History names are forgotten, and the war who ended the life of all of its generals ended, as the years passed people stopped remembering this dark time, and all the soul were put to a rest, and now a new branch of History will grow...thank you all for the support those characters were really fun to make, but from here on I will post characters with new stories, and with new things, or so I hope :D

Ok so here is an Trial/Unofficial Entry for a CaS thread @brucege told me some time ago, but he never came to make, so here it is.

Song: Alluring Secret~Black Vow~ Piano

Cecilia belong to a secret society of musicians, she is one of the two woman, the rest are men, the society's name is Mourning Angels, they create songs based on they life, and create stories to sing about.
The reason why their society is a secret comes from the fact they are all involved in ominous cases, most with meant the death of every single member of their family.
Cecilia was no different, she is a melancholic woman, without the energy for much, one of her few pleasures is to play the piano, the face of her older brother is the only thing she can remember. Quote~ "The tears of an angel shall become the song that bring comfort to those in despair."

Design Notes: I know here we have something you guys told me not to do several times, mostly consistent of two colors, and gray and black is not very original, I know, but my intention was to make a simple dress, that does not seem very tragic but rather composed and elegant. I made a special/impossible to achieve in real battle underwear, just because... why not?
