DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

I think SM should be gone. Im even lucky me and Jak can actually have organized pvp sessions together, but one day when our SL's get out of range all of that will end. Im not sold on the cap part as i hear people still can't play together
The "cap" is around 10 mil, I don't know for sure, which is a very annoying location for it to be. At around that point, you stop seeing people below 10, and start seeing people above 10. At 150 you'll have about 1.5 mil SM, but people who do PvP a lot, or just go through NG+s, are gonna get to 10 mil... meaning you can't connect to them, and they can't connect to you, which is stupid.
But as it's the only form of matchmaking and this is, as far as I can see, the last boundary, when you hit 10 mil you get everybody above 10mil... Of course including ridiculously overleveled people.
Of course, another issue is that there are a lot of levels in-between 1.5mil SM and 10mil SM, so even in that boundary there's imbalance.

It's not even something hex editing can solve unfortunately. :/
The cap should at least be the rough soul requirement to be...--no, that doesn't even work because it just imbalances things underneath!
Everyone says it needs to be the sum of the upgrade costs and value of the equipment you're wearing as well as your level, but how does it track the Brigand Set +3 you get, or the Dingy Robe +5? How much is Old Sun Ring worth? How much is unupgraded Havel's Set worth?
Powerful items aren't necessarily more expensive, meaning you get twinks again, which to be honest is better than the problems we currently have but still... Actually, if somebody wanted to twink right now, they can be level 838 and just hex edit their SM to a couple of thousand whenever they can't connect anymore so it's even worse.
It just needs to go, imo.

Anyway, how come you never organise PvP sessions with me!? Oh, I see how it is... I see.

I can see FromSoft not removing Sm I just wish it was different, in terms of not factoring in SM to pvp with your friends. My SM is 5.9 mil Garjan so most likely if you have a SL 150 character and around that SM you can pvp with me and jak at hielde tower of flame near the first bonfire. Im not a fan of pvping at iron keep due to the limited spacing there on the bridge....

Thought about not jumping into NG+ but I wanted to buy orbs. So I threw myself into the Havelmage fuckfest. I'm a dragon who buys orbs on the side, but nope. Have to jump into NG+ for exorbitantly priced pvp items. And half of em are gonna be wasted by DC. Just watch.
In light of the backstep parry exploit.-The only way to bring attention to something is to abuse it. I'm rocking dual longswords to showcase that infinites are fair and balanced.

was cruising the forums while i was grinding out some sun medals and someone asked: "You are not asking the right question...The question of the century is still how does the lift in Earthen Peak lead and support the entire Iron Keep, which is then engulfed in lava."

it was then responded to with this pick:

I always assumed it was you know, carved into a mountain, not supporting one. You don't even go all the way up the tower, do you? I feel as though Mytha's room is more back than up.

This shit with the location of the Iron Keep has pissed me off to no end. Where the hell is that vast wasteland of Izalith hellflame coming from? The Peak is not big enough to hold it, and you go UP. Why.

I just can't understand the reason for it...

Why not just have the paths curve less, or in a different direction?
This is the kind of thing you have to do on purpose because why on earth would you have a 360* loop, when you could so easily just bend the corners less and rotate the area back a little? I could fix this.

I think they should gone all out and had every area overlap completely. Just have every corner go in a 720* loop Stanley Parable style. Have a huge ladder at the bottom of the pit that ascends all the way back to the top, but then into Grave of Saints somehow. Make the zipline in Dragon Aerie lead to Dragon Shrine which just appears where the bonfire was... go crazy.

Heh, maybe they could get it to the point where there's only 1 bonfire, and warping just changes the world around you, and you don't actually move anywhere.

So has anyone here abused backstep parry yet in pvp? its pretty silly tbh lol Its basically a glitch where as soon as you press the parry button you immedietly press B to backstep and with this you dont ever have to learn parry timings since backstep has an invincible frame i think? just not as much as roll. But still, with this its pretty difficult for anyone to punish a backstep parry.
I had a character that used dual Red Rust Scimitars, and I wanted to change him into a DEX character using Manikin Scimitar on the left hand and Dagger in the right. This glitch really spurred me to do it, and while collecting chunks from bell tower intruders, I was trying to utilize the glitch... but I kept screwing it up and just parrying them normally, which worked out just fine to be honest. x)

Weird stuff.

Yea, honestly I was more a fan of the geography in the first Dark Souls. It seemed like it was much more well thought out.

I remember climbing down tomb of the giants for the first time and hitting that intersection where you see both the firey demon ruins and ash lake in opposite directions. Every time I see that shit I'm just like... "Man. Brilliant."

Yeah, level/world design is really one of these things where you see the effect of left the job to B team (it seem the real one was already on the next ps4 chapter, basically teaming up sony jap like for DemonS)

Another is chara design, as much i liked Lucatiel and beer bro Gavlan overall the game lack of charisma

Another is atmosphere, but to be fair it was already softened from DeS to DaS1

Great game btw, far better than 99% stuff around

Overall my fav is still DaS1 over the other two

just found out phantoms can't heal during invasions. the host was never invaded whenever i sunbro'd before so i never noticed it. kinda neat but still fuck 3v1's

Pvp in general. I've respecced into different builds like 10 times the last two days. Back and forth, back and forth. It just isn't fun, and I really can't bring myself to enjoy any area for pvp. In DkS I was usually content waiting around for people because I liked the areas I chilled in. There are very few areas like that I can think of here. I've basically been chilling and imvafing belfry Luna exclusively, but most people there are run-of-the mill cheese builds.

I'm just gonna wait till they patch.

Yeah if your goal is to be a scumbag and never lose Doors of Pharros is perfect (and that's a legitimate goal in Dark Souls haha). But this game's more "general" PVP isn't all that.

I wass a rat cov member on release but the wait times were getting tedious. I've been to to troll the cheese builds in Belfry with acid but it doesn't really work. Also profound still lol .
