Screwing around with 3S on the computer. Is it me, or does parrying work EXACTLY like JG, in that it works on the RELEASE?

    Just you.

3S had a 5 frame window while SCV has a 6 frame window. At least, I think that's how it is in 3SO. Before 3S parrying got nerfed the window was larger.

I may be completely wrong because I don't have a SF background, but that's just info I've heard.

    Huh, thanks.

I got to the "Parry the Ball" stage, and something in the back of my mind told me "press forward before you get hit". And I did it, and it worked, and I was all aldkfaldihalkrha

    You know.
We sittin' in here, I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we in here talkin' about practice. Not a game. We talkin' bout practice.

I know its important, I do. I honestly do. But we talkin' bout practice, man. What are we talkin' bout? Practice? We talkin' bout practice man. We talk... We talkin' bout practice. We talkin' bout practice. We ain't talkin' bout the game, we talkin' bout practice, man.

When you come into the arena, and you see me play, you see me play, don't you? You see me give everything I got, right? But we talkin' bout practice right now. We talkin' bout practice. Man look, I hear you, its funny to me too. I mean, its strange, its strange to me too. But we talkin' bout practice man. We not even talkin' bout the game, the actual game, when it matters. We talkin' bout practice.

    Lol dat Allen Iverson.
So Ranked is based off of Japanese-style single-elimination, one and done. I get it... It's poo, but I get it...

Wow. Thanks for the history lesson.

I have to wonder how much influence the outside world really has on Japanese developers...

Yeah I've been thinking that since SC3. By their own admission they didn't even try to balance the game, because as a direct to console port, it was considered to be a non-competitive game by JPN thinking. This was in direct response to SC2 being ill-received in JPN ARC despite being a huge competitive success in the US and EUR.

Tekken to this day does not balance a game when it comes to console, even if the ARC version has things which could be fixed. Case in point was Tekken 4, imbalances were known. When the console port dropped, none of them were fixed. This, again, was because a console version was not seen as competitive. This is also why TTT2 took over a year to get to console- all the balance testing was handled in Asia-PAC arcades.
Out of commission until Tuesday or Wednesday. Why can't things just work forever...

Hey, just a heads up. My PS3 froze last night, I've had to do this before (lost all my data last time).

The format is going to take approx. 39 hours and 10 minutes so I may or may not make it on Thursday.

    I'll keep you posted.

Its all good. Hope it doesn't give you too many issues.
Also I'll be on in about, 3-4 hours time playing for most of the night trying to get the hang of this stuff!

You'll have to learn advantage and disadvantage first. You're getting counter-hit attacking at the wrong time.

Don't, uh, don't use raw Critical Edge in the open like that. It's risky...
I can play eastern time, and whenever is fine for me, I just need to scrim you and I need you to tell me what I need to learn, I get stuck by long range moves and experienced players sit back with a long chain and keep hitting me with it (dont know what character) and ground and pound me till I cant get back up and some can block all of my moves and just throw and ground and pound me all game
Hey sensei :) I just wanted to let you know that I'll be available in the second half of the week again if that's savvy with you.

I'll be on the forum for the next three days, drop me a line when you're on and I'll try to be there for the full extent of your time available :)

I've been thinking about it, it'll be easier if you give me some general timeranges to expect you, and your timezone. Unless you just want to leave things to chance, I guess.

I'm GMT+1 which is 6 hours ahead of eastern time. I'm generally available all of saturdays in the afternoon, most sundays, and some fridays. Thursdays are tricky but doable later in the afternoon towards the evening.
