Was AA really safe in every SC except 4? Hrm, guess I'm misremembering, although I could swear KamiMofo told me once to never do AA cuz it was a free AA on block against some characters.

I never tested Maxi´s AAg against a Taki whoring out A with her back against the wall though. But practically, it was always safe before SCIV.

BTW folks, here is what my sister could answer out of my questions regarding her trip to Paris and playing SCV as long as possible:

-1BBBK is almost the old BBBK series from older SC´s except the first move(animation-wise).

- A command throw or any type of new throw doesn´t exist.

-Old 236B not found.

Old pokes like SCIII 2A+B or 3B+KB not found.

And SCII 66A, alias tiger pounce... Not found either.

66K seems to be positive on block. My sister played against Dina´s Hilde and always attacked after 66K/BBBK on block and so it seems to be even + on block. Not sure.

That means that those moves weren´t implanted ´cause this is really a very early build of SCV Maxi, or they won´t be in the game at all... At least more less.

I see, interesting. My sister wasn´t sure about 1BBBK being old BBBK either but she was pretty sure that 66k is at least +-0 or even positive on block.

Now that would be bad if it is really -1 or so on block...

Is the 11A shift to BL any faster now? I'm expecting this low to be good now that we can autoGI potential mid punishers :) or retreat with BL A

Do you recall the recovery of RO B standalone? It LOOKS decent in the vids

Cant say for 11A, but RO B~G happen faster for sure. RC cancel pretty fast.

How is Maxi's vertical tracking now? I've seen many whiffs and stuff in the videos. Even fewer verticals track now in this game?

Does his 2K reliably hit standing opponents now?

Maxi's vertical tracking is decent, but steps are buffed a lot in SC5. I wouldnt worry about step for Maxi tho, he got some great options to kill it.

SC4 2K is gone if I'm not mistaken. SC5 2K is the first part of SC4 2B+K, B. It's reliable on standing opponent but still shitty frame-wise. 2K, B is not a NC.
 
Thanks for the write-up. It feels like it's been forever since I was excited to play an SC game. If Maxi ends up fun to play and NOT sucking huge porn star cock like he did in SC4, this game will be a day 1 purchase for me.

Let me tell you, I was SOOOO happy when I heard the demo vids were of top french players. The previous SC5 demonstrations by players who were obviously beginners weren't showing me anything to sell me on the game. I just hope Project Soul is smart enough to take new builds to the french community for constant play-testing.

EDIT: Why the fuck does it say "neophyte" under my ID? I've been up in this bitch since SC1!!!

Well I must say that after SC2 (Skipped 3 & 4) and such a long wait I'm actually interested in seeing how things turn out. I'm going to thoroughly dissect the new demo vids as they pop up. Now after watching it for the second time it looks like they've changed the PSL system as after 3B->RO, RO A->PSL1 (not sure if that's right GOD! it's been ages) to LI.

It's been 10 years already?...why do I feel soo old :(

Indeed, all we need now is KamikazeMOFO, Shouji and Spyder. For the newer Maxi players (since I have some free time) I used to manage an FTP site for a massive archive of Sc2 matches. Sypder would send me Singapore matches all the time to upload. So it was an inside joke that they would send me a large tin of Milo and gifts as a token of their appreciation.

Guess what?, 1 year later they did and 8 years after that I still have the T-Shirt.

Hey Barry, any chance you could put those old Spyder matches on YouTube? He and Kami were the best SC2 Maxis imo.
 
The archive was managed by someone else. I can't remember what his name was, but he ended up setting up a username and password for the ftp I could use back then. I think all of that content is now lost sadly :(

11/11/2005 Well, the site hasn't been updated in about a year and a half. The server is moving so the vids will be gone. It's been a good 5 or so year run. Not sure if will be hosting sc3 videos, there are a lot of good free alternatives out there. Maybe will keep the db.
