Success Changes People

Allow me to stereotype for a minute.

Every. Single. Person. That you have ever met, has a false sense of reality upon achieving success. The example of success I'm going to use here is...winning a tournament for your first time. Or, perhaps defeating someone you've always wanted to defeat. Sorry. Everybody does it. And no, it doesn't matter if this newfound winner appears to act humble. Hell, you may not even smell delusion right off the bat. But over time you shall see their distorted view of reality come out in subtle ways. (Maybe only through body language.) Either way, this deep feeling of superiority will reveal itself. So... Why am I telling you this, then, if it's going to happen, anyway? Well, I'm not sure exactly. But, I am curious if someone can relate to this phenomena that has gone unaddressed since the DAWN OF MAN.

Here's something interesting: In general, I am used to accomplishing goals on a regular basis in my life. Actually, I've gotten so used to success that I now look back and regret the moments of excitement had over a particular accomplishment. That's because upon the next success, I reflect upon the previous one and realize how ahead of myself I got. It was sometimes to the point of making up silly explanations for why things worked out, and failing to see just how simple it was in actuality. I think the ability to understand how a personal success story can be repeated is crucial in seeing how logical/explainable it is. Don't fall for believing in magic. That's my summary of it, at least. What's yours? If you don't have one, then cheers. Thanks for reading.

I find that if I view everything negatively; even my own success; when the time comes that it doesen't go wrong; I am pleasantly surprised.

There is a little known and rarely used tactic, sometimes referred to as feeding the poison, that revolves around success.

Put simply, if you convince your opponent that something they're doing works and you can't stop it, then when the time comes and you really need to, they will taken by complete surprise.

At least that's what I tell people is the reason I keep eating 44b.

I am the longest & most accomplished Siegfried player that ever was. In all Soul games (Not much at SB, I was too young) I've manage to master all of his command down to framing inputs & figuring the best purposes by their times. Regardless if I win or lose matches, casuals, events, challenges &/or tournaments, I've always have that for myself, & its enough for me.
Also, I've accomplish these while having the pressure of team-mates & friends suggesting me to try or change into another character whenever things didn't go well for me, but I never quit.

Btw, I'm not stating that I'm the best Siggy player, I'm just stating that I believe that I'm very, very, very dedicated.

Also, this will be the only time that I'll ever express this about myself.
