The SOUL Games - XBL Online Survival Tournament -IN PROGRESS-

Ooofmatic

World Warrior
IT HAS BEGUN!!

THE FIRST DEADLINE IS MONDAY JANUARY 14.

ON THAT DAY ONE PERSON WHO HAS NOT YET ELIMINATED ANYBODY WILL BE RANDOMLY ELIMINATED!!

SIGNUPS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL JANUARY 11.
---
This tournament is for NORTH AMERICA XBL only.

No Player Cap, No Bracket, One Fantastic Prize.

The way this works is you challenge anyone in the tournament and play a FIRST TO 3.

The Loser gets ELIMINATED from the tournament.

The Winner will be SAFE (*) when the DEADLINE comes.

There will be a weekly DEADLINE. During the DEADLINE one player that has not played and does not have a Safe Star (*) will be RANDOMLY ELIMINATED.

Each person that you Eliminate makes you SAFE (*) for ONE deadline. So if you challenge and eliminate two players, you will be SAFE (*) for the next TWO deadlines.

You do not have to accept all challenges, but understand if you do not eliminate someone by the deadline you risk being eliminated yourself!

Regarding (*): When you defeat someone, you gain a "Safe Star", which is what saves you from being eliminated at the next deadline. During the deadline everyone who has any Safe Stars will lose one of them, and anyone who doesn't have any will risk being randomly eliminated among others who don't have any.

Create-a-Soul banned, Devil Jin banned unless the opponent agrees to fight him.

The GRAND CHAMPION of this tournament will recieve ALL 9 CARDS from PAGE 9 of my CARD PRIZE THREAD: http://8wayrun.com/threads/online-challenges-tournament-prize-cards.15397/

Hypothetically, what would happen if nobody accepts your challenge? Would you get eliminated even though you attempted?

Yes, that's why it may be a good idea to challenge as many people as you can to ensure that doesn't happen.

I've decided to give everyone one "Safe Star" at the start of the tournament, which will be indicated by a star (*) beside your name. When you defeat someone, you gain a Safe Star, which is what saves you from being eliminated at the next deadline. During the deadline everyone who has any Safe Stars will lose one of them, and anyone who doesn't have any will risk being randomly eliminated among others who don't have any.

Alright. Sounds like fun; I'll give it a shot. Anyone wanting a free win if I'm entered: XBL: DaBros_1234

This tournament can provide some interesting strategies which may allow weaker players to have a chance at winning the Grand Prize.

For example, a weaker player can deny challenging an "elite" who they know they have a high chance of losing to and being eliminated by, and simply try to 'outlast' the elite player by eliminating more weaker opponents than that player does, therefore gaining more safe stars (*) to not be eliminated during the deadlines!

Also, cross country lag can be avoided with this format! If there is someone on the East Coast who lags a lot with someone on the West Coast, they don't have to play each other if they don't want to!

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out!

Also there should be a set number to many "No you'll rape me"s a person should get.
If you really intimidate others to the point where no one wants to play you, you can either 1) Challenge more Skilled players that won't turn you down, or 2) offer the weaker players a handicap incentive by saying you will use a different character against them.
