What do you think about ring outs?

I was online today, and a person complained about me ringing him out. As a gamer, I go by the mentality of "What's in the game is in the game." and, with few exceptions, refer to people who think they can the make rules as "Scrubs". I think ring outs are fully legit wins. Besides, ring outs have brought some of the best things in the series, like many of the fail videos and these..

There should be self ring out quotes! lol

MY honest opinion is Ring Outs are pretty cheap... =P And for me it's the only thing I get mad about other than a laggy connection... But I can't really bash Ring Outs completely because I've pulled off some crazy comebacks with a ring out, and they saved my life! ><;;

Hilde was a prime example of why Ring Outs were "OP" because she had a aerial combo that had insane knock back priorities, but the damage itself wasn't very high. Thus she was labeled borderline broken... I think it gets frustrating only when you get caught in mid-level combos (think Patrol BE combo + CE) which it'll carry you pretty far!

What it really comes down to is, if I got ringed out, I did something dumb or wasn't paying that close of attention to stay away from the edges, so you have to blame yourself a bit for it...

RO is one of the reason why people that play SC have to have a good brain, position is important and the many types of players make this hard to do, people who say that RO is cheap are the same people who can't place their character very well. It is cheap? No- if anything makes the game deeper.

When I first started playing SC I used to think ROs were so cheap and people who used them didn't deserve to win. However, now that I think about it, it's something that's there to be used and abused (if you possibly can) so why not use it? If you are outsmarted by your opponent and they ring you out, you need to improve upon it, not bitch about it.

It's the same whereby people cry about grab spam. It's not against the rules, it's not cheating, it's just a move that people can abuse on you because you are obviously not smart enough to duck or break the grab. It's there to be used, so why not use it?

This list goes on for some time, but I think one other example is enough.

THIS NOTION IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TEST. ANYBODY CAN JUST SAY, "YEAH, I PLANNED THAT", BUT THERE'S NO WAY TO KNOW SUFFICIENTLY. THERE IS A REAL DEPTH BEHIND RING OUT TACTICS, BUT SUCCESSFULLY WINNING WITH THEM CERTAINLY DOESN'T PROVE WHO IS NECESSARILY BETTER.

VALUES NEED TO BE ASSIGNED TO THE WORTH OF EACH TYPE OF ATTACK THAT HITS EACH PLAYER (SIMILAR TO HOW JUDGES ATTEMPT TO JUDGE BOXING MATCHES). SIMPLY ACCEPTING THE FINAL SCORE IN-GAME AND CALLING THAT PROOF IS RUBBISH.

Ring out is legal and correct, is part of Soul Calibur and I love it, thanks to them any battle is over until is really over, it gives a lot of strategy, you don´t only try to ring out but also you fight to prevent to lose with one.

To be honest, I laugh at the people who complain with me about ring out, when they order to me to play like they want. If someone don´t like RO then don´t do it or play another game or don´t fight me, here is totatlly legit and I will do it and accept like a good player when they do it to me.

Whenever I get RO, I always laugh about cause I just find it funny. But no reason that it is illegal. All is fair in love and war.

Do you know nothing else?!?! :sc5rap1:

Hilde could land one hit from almost any postion in the stage and it meant certain death, oh and if you didn't get physically knocked out, YOU WOULD SLIDE OUT. (Soul Water Park 4).

"I refuse to bow to your logic"!

i don't have a hatred for RO'S they're pretty great for comebacks. I remember a match it was 2-2 and my health was quit large and my opponent was really low and i pressed the wrong button and he rung me out. of course i was upset but it was my fault i got rung, a little lesson to make sure to use the right inputs.

I think it is fair. Especially if I do it.^^ Imagine it, fighting big bulky people who block all your attacks. Putting you down to your last bit of life until you grab them and send them on their way.

Ring outs are unfair and cheap, and you should all be ashamed...is what the old me would say to this topic. However ring position just adds to the depth. You guys know that there are people who think wall combos are cheap?
