Sophie was said to have gone missing after she was blackmailed by Tira into becoming a servant of Soul Edge and defending it from any kind of assault. Cassie went out to find her and wound up in Astral Chaos and went missing herself

Too many similar styles, how can we have lovely Phyrra if Cassandra was still around? That would be 4 characters using sword and shield. I believe Sophitia was dead/dying in Ostrhein... castle and Cassandra came close to her then OUTTA NOWHERE Astral Chaos. No sense. I'm not 100% sure though.

Pyrrha plays nothing like Cassandra...they have sword and shield yes...but playstyles and movesets are miles different
 
What do you think about Cassandra being corrupted/possessed by soul Edge in SC6 ?

I mean, if Sophitia is really dead, there are different hypotheses concerning the presence of Pyrrah, Patroklos and Cassy, as they all have a sword and shield style. Cassy is hugely missed by many players, she is very likely to be present in the next episode : therefore Pyrrah/Pat won't be here, or they'll return and Cassy will have a new fighting style . What do you think about that ?
 
being possessed by Soul Edge isn't a new concept to the story, Cerv was possessed, Siegfried was possessed, Algol's son, Arcturus was possessed, Pyrhha became possessed, Sophie even got possessed...several characters in the Soul series end up getting possessed in their arcade endings...Tira from SC3 for e.g...hell they've even got Soul Calibur attempting the same thing, it possessed Siegfried and Patroklos.

If Cassie were to be corrupt...then it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference, they may just change her weapons over for a Soul Edge version of her shield and sword and make her a little bat-shit crazy, not unlike Pyrrha Omega, which is pretty standard for Soul Edge.
I don't really think it would have as much an impact on Cassie as it did Siegfried and Pyrhha.
However if she or someone else were to be possessed by Soul Calibur and were to form a new entity similar to that of how Soul Edge created Nightmare, then we've got something interesting. (Elly would technically qualify, but atm she's nothing more than fan-service who copies other females)

Pyrhha and Patroklos are still relevant to the story as Soul Calibur now revolves around them. Patroklos would probably still wish to exact revenge on Tira and find a cure for Pyrhha's current malfestation and may end up joining Schwarzwind to that end...only Siegfried and every other soul calibur player would that you just can't simply get rid of Nightmare that easily.
If they end having new fighting styles, then Pat would probably end up with some weird combination of his Alpha moveset and regular moveset, all the while Pyrrha's moveset will strongly resemble her mothers, albeit with more confidence in herself (no awkward move animations such as falling over during moves).

Yeah that is what I was thinking about , a new kind of corruption (Hey, that make sense as Project Soul wanted, or still want to make more episodes). And maybe, if Cassy is one of the new preys of Soul Calibur, that could interesting as you said .

I was wondering if the main story would still revolve around Pat and Pyrrha after SCV because of Daishi and Taigo departure ..but I have forgotten these details with Tira and the possession.

Damn yeah, I think some interesting fighting style changes are coming. I wish PS have time to make deep changes with some of returning characters. And yes, when you're talking about awkward animations and boring screams that's one of the many reasons I've always preferred Cassy over Pyrrah (and Sophie btw),

precisely seeing as they're now showing Soul Calibur to be just as absolute in it's order as Soul Edge is absolute in it's destruction, and to accomplish these, Soul Edge and Soul Calibur will need agents to enforce their will.
Soul Edge already has a new host for Nightmare all that's left is for Soul Calibur to select one, it's fair to mention that Elly is simply Patroklos' delusion of his mother and that the spirit of Soul Calibur can assume many forms to appeal to it's host.
If Cassy ends up taking up that mantel then we have that divine force that's directly contrasts Soul Edge.

The main story would probably still revolve around Patroklos and Pyrrha, but you gotta remember that Viola is supposed to be important to the story aswell...despite her having only 2 lines in story mode. Not to mention Cerv has a new body...Tira is now shaping up to be the new big-bad as she despises this new Nightmare and wishes to create her own...with Pyrrha free of Soul Edges control while still malfested, Tira will most likely be on the prowl again.
Kilik, Maxi, Leixia, Xianghua, Xiba, Taki, Edgemaster and Natsu have their own thing going on. Hilde has children of her now, what will become of them?
The burning question if Raph is actually the new Nightmare aswell as what became of ZWEI and what are his origins? what happened to Amy, is she really Viola, how did she end up with amnesia? all these questions need answering and are great plots and sub-plots for the story

there'll be inevitable fighting style changes...Alpha Patroklos is supposed to be Patroklos' "true fighting style" and I'm not sure if he'll choose to go back to his sword and shield style.
It'd be nice to see Pyrrha's character develop a little more. I can understand why she moves the way she does and I can't help but love her for it...however during her time possessed and finally being dispelled from Soul Edges control, she finally realises her weakness and ends up becoming a much more confidant individual, I hope that translates over not only into her character but her playstyle and moveset...
Cassie had such a confidant and fiery aura about her which is what attracted me to her in the first place, similarly to Hilde aswell...and thus because of this Cassie was my 2nd in SC4 and Hilde my 3rd in SC5
 
i dont want Pyrrha to be like her mother(leave her as a moe character) Hoshino can do what ever he want with Pyrrha and Patroklos i could care less about those 2 i dont like them and never will... like it or not Hoshino will bring back Sophitia,she is his favorite character and he use her alot to promote LS(she even the sc guest star in wo3u) so i have good hope to see her back in SC6
 
I'm not sure if it's certain Hoshino will bring back Sophie...if you understood Namco games, you'd know why she won't come back.
LS and WO3 have nothing to do with SC's story line, so it's irrelevant whether Sophie's in them or not.
If she does come back, then it'll be as Elly...which is basically false-Sophie

women over 30 years old cant fight anymore bs rule....? even if she is dead,they can use the greek gods to bring her back to life or any other excuse ,the sc5 artbook and even sc5 story are irrelevant now Daishi and his vision of SC are gone for good and they even changed the bios of the characters on the sc site
Hoshino will bring the veterans characters back unless he want a another fan backlash...
as for Sophitia she is among the most popular veterans that why i have good hope to see her back in sc6

that's the one, Namco have had this rule in circulation since the beginning, even Tekken isn't exempt from this rule, many females have been removed (Kunimitsu) or replaced with a successor (Jun Kazama and Asuka Kazama)...if a female is canonically over 30, they gotta go. either they get replaced with a successor or they're axed off entirely, unless they have some sought of magic or science that stops them from aging...Ivy, for example, having Cervs blood, is immortal.
Greek gods bringing characters back to life? this isn't God of War lol. If we get Sophie, then it'll be as a replacement...such as Pyrrha or Elysium with Sophie's moveset
 
that why i hope Hoshino will retcon the story and bring the veterans back like many fans i do not want/accept a replacement for my character
 
I will not say that hope at this point is useless, however I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you...the only thing that I can see working to keep the current story cannon aswell as retconning it into a new one is if Patroklos goes back in time again

How many female chars over 30 are in Capcom, Sega, Arc System and other fighting game developers?
 
Anyways that rule you mention is not exclusive of Namco. Is a general attitude of the japanese VG industry because of HYPOCRISY about... the other industry they're known in the west.

I'd explain it but maybe I'd get modded
 
It's not about the age but how she went out. Sophitia died a good death. She sacrificed herself for Pyrrha. Just keep her as an angel in the afterlife gawd. R.I.P
Cassandra coming back seems very likely. With the whole Astral Chaos thing, it's safe to assume she probably didn't age like 95% of the cast.
