Just Attacks

whether you use stick or pad, is irrelevant, the thing that makes it JF is the a:B and if its the same as setsuka doesnt have to be that fast just clean, so you only press B when you have let go of A
so you are saying that it's not just a fast input but it has to be clean, right ?

He is usable online. I play him online with very good results. Invaluable training tool.
He is fun to play. Especially because he is hard to play.

I intend to play him in tournament, and I'll never counterpick. I don't believe in counterpick.

While I do believe in counterpick personally, I agree with you - the difficulty in playing is half of his charm. =D

Man Im full of these weird questions. Here I go..

Why do you think we havent seen and Alpha P's winning any tournaments? Or appearing in the top end of them? (from what Ive seen from the tournaments link) Is it he is too hard? The people need more time to develop his strats? Or he is hard and fun, but just cant compete on the highest end?

What do you guys think? Im asking out of my ignorance, not assumption.

Woahhzz won a tournament with him.
Docvizzo won a tournament with him.
I won a tournament with him.
Maxou has probably won a tournament with him, lol.

You don't see many Alphas because compared to an easy character like Mitsu its a no brainer on who to pick. As a viable character, Alpha's demanding play will always make Alpha players a minority. It was the same with SCIV Setsuka.

Finally got decent at using JF Twister after training for days. I was getting a bit discouraged not being able to land multiple Twisters as a combo but it really feels good when you land multiple Twisters in a match. Havent had this feeling and feeling of wanting to get better with any other character yet. Oh and it conveniently teaches you Yoshis iMFC in the process.

I'm a Yoshi player so apart from BT B+K:B JF twister is relatively easy for me, since it feels like iMCF. I've more problems with the timing ones because I'm not as used to Sets/Alpha. That said:

1) ag : B (can never do this outside training. Doesn't help that my thumb has to go a V shape cos I'm a pad player who doesn't use triggers. Fuck it!)
2) 1B : B
3) 1A : A : A
4) 2143 B : B
5) JF twister
6) BT B+K : B

Hardest to easiest

1) 1A:A:A - one JF out of the two required is all I can do so far. The rhythm eludes me.
2) 1B :B- Sometimes I can constantly get it, sometimes I don't.
3) JF Twister- Getting the "feel" of the a:B slide.
4) ag:B
5) 2143B:B
6) BT B+K : B

hardest to easiest

1)ag:B - i just can't do the just frame of it
2)JF twister - my thumb hurts and its a bitch do pull off consistently
3)1A:A:A - im starting to get the pattern OH YEAH!
4) 1B:B - was able to pull off 90% before patch but now its about 75-80% now
5)2143B:B
6) BT B+K:B

Easiest to Hardest

BT B+K:B
2143B:B
1A:A:A
JF Twister
ag:B
1B:B

The timing for 1B:B eludes me, had this down with Setsuka in IV, but the timing doesn't appear to be the same for Patsuka. I'm still in the habit of double tapping the second B, maybe this is hurting my success rate, which right now is 30% I'd say. Any tips on what visual cues I can look out for?

Still having trouble with this even when i'm sliding the buttons inhumanly fast. The input just has to be clean, right? Like, really fast but still clean as opposed to simply breaking the sound barrier with your thumb?

The A button has to be released before you press B within 3 frames I think? So:
Frame 1: Press A
Frame 2: Release A
Frame 3: Press B
Its basically iMCF but :3: instead of :2:. =/

lol you dont have to be so technical you go into to frames, just use the small part of your thumb and slide.

There are a lot of things you could be doing wrong. What are you getting instead of JF Twister?

FC3B - Wait longer before inputting the a:B if you are doing this from a buffer. An early slide will get you a buffered FC3B, instead of the FC 3a:B, which cannot be buffered (not the final B input, at any rate).

FC2A - Uh, you're missing the B.

3A - You didn't do your 214 buffer properly and got a standing move instead of a crouching one.

WS A - You didn't hold 3 while doing the a:B input.

FC3A+B - Don't hit both at once... this can happen if you buffered it and didn't release A before inputting the B.

FC3aB - Do it faster. No seriously. If you're just getting a regular twister, go faster. Still not working? Yeah? Even faster then.
