DEX got a little curious n.n

How do players feel about girl characters in games? I'm not trying to cause or enforce a rebellious campaign or anything, but just ask for a little insight of how players feel about female characters. I already used the search engine to see if there was a thread already made, but I didn't find shit (lol). This could be from any game, doesn't matter. The reason why I am asking this is because I myself will be doing all I can to get into game designing career. So I just want to get some opinions from you all if I can & tell me what you think.

To get more in depth about this question, I'm talking more about your own preferences of how you love some girl characters & might dislike some girl characters. Possibly something like how they are dressed, like overly exposed women to get the sexual hormones pumpin XD. Or the way they act, their personality, the way they do things that may make you feel uncomfortable or anything else (Jealousy, lol), & anything else you could share about your own opinions. Maybe what you like & probably don't. Or does it all just really depend on the games atmosphere & how the game characters are supposed to live?

Anyways, hope it all goes well, tell me what you personally think, & don't be scured to admit you love you some ayyuuss XD.

One thing I don't like about girl characters is the weird stereotypes and balances that go into them. Most men in fighting games are larger, many really buff. There is always a fat guy stereotype also. Bob from Tekken, Rufus from Streetfighter. I have never seen a fat girl stereotype though. Why not have a girl the size of Bob? Why is it alright to make men fat but not women? Also women seem to always be super petite, why not have a body builder type chick in a fighting game? On average, guys in fighting games look like they could throw a better punch. In real life, being big and having muscles has a lot to do with power.

Secondly, since all women are petite. A lot of them seem to be extremely fast. This wouldn't be a problem except all of the fast characters never lack in power. Viola and Natsu are both good examples of this. Astaroth hits like a tank but is super slow. Viola hits like a tank and is also decently fast with low risk. Natsu is very fast with still less risk than Astaroth.

No one would use or care about a fat ugly woman, I mean there is literally zero demand for them. It would be seen as disrespectful too, most fat characters are white men from 'standard' nations. If Gragas from LoL was black then shit would fly. If Bob was a woman then everyone would be like "What is the point of this character? Is this a joke?" Then some would come to the conclusion of 'insert discrimination reason here'.

Bob is fat, that is his character. That is his personality. That is his goal and his life. He is also a shite character and I hate him, get aids Bob.

I think we need to de-sexualize female character designs. It just isn't practical for combat to have gigantic boobs limiting your mobility.

Also, I will never understand people who are discomforted by the mere presence of female characters in video games.

The important thing is being fair and unbiased

If you do a giant boobs character you must do an big ass character too

I've always been into giant tanky women. I have a lot created in SCV & pretty much in all the other games I have. The only fat ass chick I know of is from Borderlands 2. As for buff women, SF is the closest you'll get. Other then that, they really are kind of rare to come by. Then again, I'm pretty sure we all can guess this right. About why there never is any fat & buff girls. It's simply to attract attention. My version of bigness I wouldn't call it fat, nor buff, but simply big... xD

Exactly as Alex said. More variety please.
One thing I dislike are games where male armour looks normal, but female versions of the same set resembles weird fetish-wear (Skyrim comes to mind), I just don't see the point in it?
That's called BADASSERY WOMAN PRIDE! n.n lol, I myself actually like how they do that. Sometimes its cool if they do happen to wear the same look towards armor for both genders. If it's really that damn good looking.

Women are usually higher tier. Nina Williams, Setsuka, Lili (in sfxt) Viola. Etc etc

Tekken isn't a good example. Mishima's are king, which are all men. Back when Nina was at her best, Tekken 5.0. Steve was even more amazing with some of the lamest jank to ever exist.

I'm curious, why would you feel that way? & who said they have to be ugly? Going by what Alex said, I happen to think the game could use some characters who are like that. Let's take a huge (big & tall) woman with a mace like Rock for an example. Or how bout an attractive little girl who looks like she's 5 or some shit, similar to like that one little girl Marie Rose from DOA. Moves quick like the wind & uses a bow in a moba game or mmorpg, etc.

PS: Remember this could be from ANY game type.

Lol, there probably suppose to live like that. Like what I said in my first post. It may be in their nature to dress that way. Similar to an Indian; half naked, no shoes, no shirt, that kind of shit. n.n

Ever heard of Zhu Rong from DW? She's always naked in every game she's been in, because that's in her nature to live like that. That's apart of her & her tribe on how they live. That woman in the video however, looks like a mage from an mmorpg. That's normal to me, I see ton of women like that. In other words, you may find it sexual of course, but they won't.

Alex you need to expand your horizons.

I don't prefer female characters outright, but I often find they're more interesting conceptually than male characters, who all too often can be summed up as "He's a badass. Yep, a real badass!" Female characters tend to show more personality in their style and attitude even if they were meant mostly for fanservice.

I like women, but I may have to rant.

For starters, hilde is a great design I actually find unique in sc series. Viola is what Amy should of been to begin with.

If there's anything that makes me rage, it's the amount of cliche lolis, big boobs, and any other stereotyped anime nonsense. I like anime and all that as much as the next guy, but like many say: I want variety.

Tired of blonde ladies. I got nothing against them, but of course certain japanese dudes have some strange fetish to them.

Funny that sometimes I want to see a black female given the favorable treatment, but it's like bread and noodles over chocolate. I never cared so much for black ladies, but I genuinely feel certain video game makers aren't putting them out there enough.

See Sheva from resident evil appeals to me because it's a break from the noodles and bread I usually have. Elena from street fighter although dressed less, is tons sweeter than say tomboyish Asians I'm on and off about.

Ranting I may be, but ladies like hilde, Elena, and Sheva balance out when I get tired of common things. Everyone knows bread and noodles, but let's mix the gene pool with chocolate, tacos, or whatever ethnic country derived chick not known enough.

Throwing in chicks like alisa bosconovitch together is so lazy. When I remove the admiration glasses of her off, she looks and doesn't even have an ounce of Russian in her.

Idk. Maybe those creators are used to playing it safe with lazy slap ons of breads, noodles, kawaii candy bread of bad flavored noodles and not exploring how hot a Russian chick could be or at the very least how teasing a Latino could be.

Sorry for the wall of text.
