SoulCast #18: Patroklos

'Bout that time again, eh chaps? And I think it's taken long enough to get to Patroklos, one of the most played characters that you'll see in the competitive scene. For this episode, I thought it would be wise to bring on DrakeAldan, someone whose series of guides have helped a great deal of new players.

As with the other character episodes, we did a quick first-to-five and I recorded an additional, short recap video of what we discussed in case you don't have time to listen to the full episode and want to get started with the character sooner. Enjoy!

We definitely need an aPat SoulCast. I would think Woahhzz would be a good candidate but apparently you have to pay for any kind of interview time with him. So I would say Shen Yuan since Maxou quit playing. LP would have some good things to say but he's horrible at expressing his tactics with any character.

 

Woah Maxou quit? I never knew that. I want an aPat SoulCast. I would want to hear either from Woahhzz or Shen Yuan (Siegfried traitor). I would say ZWEI but I don't think anyone plays Zwei.

It's interesting you say that about Woahhzz because all I did was ask. I'm always prepared for people to decline because, let's face it, I know sometimes people have more important shit to do, but I didn't realize he had an agent or something you have to go through now, lol.

I don't yet have capture equipment, so I haven't been able to make videos as I'd like.

Of course, the important word is "yet"!

 

Very enlightening podcast here. Was very cool to hear Drake voice his knowledge on his primary subject matter: Patroklos. He's a very fundamental character so the information in this podcast is good for thinking about how you function with your own character.

I gotta say that Patroklos players are extremely lucky to have Drake compile his guide for your own enlightenment. I fully endorse the idea of people, whom have mastered or almost mastered, other characters to be able to produce guides to help out the other players that are interested in levelling up their own character (sorta like Tiamat's Nightmare guide for example).

If I had a better mastery of Natsu and understood better how to function with her in various situations, I'd love to be able to generate some sort of guide. Unfortunately I still have ways to go...

 

I'm surprised you didn't mention Pat's RO game during the interview.
