P90X results: This stuff really works

I did my first day of doubles today (added it into my phase 3, which is considered 'hell month') and it's pretty intense. Cardio x isn't as hard as what I thought but it's pretty demanding, by the time I got to ab ripper x it felt like it did when I was about the second phase my first 90 days, sore exhausted, a little light headed (not enough to throw up), and my whole body was worn out, but man I felt good afterwards!

this stuff works ya, i'm really curious tosee how cardio x in the morning to plyometrics in the afternoon will do for me.

I think the hardest part of the "Doubles" is just finding time (and motivation) to do 2h+ of workouts every day. Cardio X is pretty low intensity imo. Plyo is too, but it kind of mixes both low and high intensity exercises so it's better. What I don't like about Cardio X is the Yoga warmup :P I don't do Yoga at all, I switched it with Insanity cardio workouts.

Really? Wow... That's 100+ lbs! Props, dude.

Thanks =) It wasn't really a big deal to lose that much weight, it kind of melts away once you start eating right and exercise. It gets MUCH harder when you are after abs =(

How long did it take you, Ring? Did you have any moments where you may have slowed down, experienced discouragement?

^Of course. I had plateau'd many times but the worst one was at the very end of my weight loss and I just stopped working out because I felt discouraged, that was about 7-8 months ago. Idk why, but once you start working out you quickly become addicted to it, and if you stop for a certain period of time you will feel horrible about yourself 24/7, at least that's how it was in my case. I got back to it 2 months ago (consultation with my surgeon was my final motivation:P) and I feel amazing again. I think it took me about 1,5 year to lose that weight. I lost the first half with cardio only then I discovered p90x.

^ wow truer words have never been spoken. I stopped working out for two weeks because of finals and I feel like SHIT.

I agree with ring, you WILL get discouraged. That's where a strong mind focus really comes into play.

Also I agree with Sen and Ring also about the workout thing. I know I feel like crap once I slow down my work outs. I just really love the energy and endurance this program gives, and intense workouts similar to this. I don't know if that's the same situation you guys where talkin about, but that happens with me lol.

Also....updated pics continuing to bring it! Day 80 to day 103:

Biggest changes I've noticed where in my waist and stomach.

Nice progress, if you continue this for the next 90/100 days you should be ripped.

And you have yet to stop working out for some time to feel how it's really like :P

P90x is not some "magical" program...it's basically just good packaging and marketing of core and basic exercises

look, I'm real happy for you, but hoola hoops are da greatest exercise of all time...OF ALL TIME

not rainin on ya parade but once you workout long enough and have enough experience you'll realize that there is no "perfect" program that makes you magically lose weight...it's due to the combination of many factors such as diet, using proper movement in the exercises, etc. you're doing right

programming is important, but not the cure all to losing weight this thread is making it out to be

holllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa at ja boiiiiiiiiiiiii...werd to yo motha

^ Who's troll account is this?! Lmao, i'll play along for alittle bit more.

I don't think p90x is a perfect program, but damn does it work, and work very well. If it is just core packaging and marketing of core and basic exercises then they hooked me with it, and keep me motivated enough to keep goin! And getting the results i'm getting, then yea, they can keep selling me things like this.

Of course I could do the same things without the use of the disks, but knowing the right times to switch excercises, enforcment of the proper ways to do things, and seeing these people still going while I could be sitting on my ass is motivation for me to keep goin.

So in a sense, it's magical motivation!

U_mad you should come out with hoola hoop x workout routine. that'd rock son!

yo shogun u seem like a kool kat so u_mad gonna stop da trollin up in dis thread

bein real, i aint got no hate fo people workin out cuz u_mad keeps his body fit for da ladies too and dats gangsta

u_mad figured this forum needed some spice up in dat ass so he came up in here to hype up da businezz

anyweyz, u_mad gots ladies to mack and other jiggas to make mad so i seyz my peice and leave y'all to do da gangsta. BAAAAAALLLA

ok so i figured i'd hop on this bandwagon. in case any of you are wondering the system can be easily obtained from TPB (find torrents yourself).

i got both the complete DVD set and all pertaining book/documents in PDF, all easily in an afternoon, and with a ton of seeders.

That's what's up lobo, continue to bring it. Let me know when you start man! I recommend working out a week before you start cause it's pretty intense. It prepares you for not wanting to quit.

well...done with week one. here's a strange result...i've never in the past decade felt such a strong desire to quit smoking. not that i want to...but it seems like i've gone from a pack and a half a day to like 5 cigs a day. every time i light up all i can think about is, "man oh man am i gonna regret this in the morning."

haven't dropped any weight...still sitting at 6'2" and 205 LBS. hopefully i can get down to about 185-190. honestly, i don't know how far into this program i will go. lots of muscle training, which i don't need or want. i think my hour would be better served jogging or bicycling. i am also very self-conscious even when i am alone. when doing plyometrics all i can think about is, "oh dear god what if someone saw me doing this..." i remember we caught a kid "shadow boxing" in gym in like 8th grade and STILL make fun of him for it when he isn't around. i'm gonna give it another 3 weeks and then at day 30 decide if i wish to finish it.

i am feeling a bit more limber, and my wrists and shoulders which are normally on fire (i have advanced carpal tunnel syndrome) seem to be feeling better than they have in months, which may be enough reason to continue in and of itself. i'm not really following the diet plan at all, other than eating small amounts frequently. i am supposed to give up heavy cream? i work as a chef, so fuck that.

also i sure wish someone else would remake these DVDs. i HATE HATE HATE listening to this douchebag. once i've seen them all one time, it is mute from here on out.

Lol, yea alot of people cannot stand Tony Horton, but he has me rollin' during the vids!

I wouldn't recommend checking the scale all the time and let your physical appearance do the talking for you. Also, if you not going for muscle build, you can always do the p90x lean routine and on resistance days do low weight higher reps. During the lean routine there isn't many resistance days though.

About the self-conscience thing, I dunno what you have to be afraid of lol. Unlike the shadow boxing incident there's thousands of people doing the EXACT same thing your doing so I wouldn't see what the problem would be.

Also, i just finished chest, shoulders, triceps today and I must say I am very impressed with my progress. I pulled out 15 psycho push-ups today, something I have never been able to do. If you don't know, psycho push-ups are a combination of clap push-ups and getting your whole body off the ground. Well that's not the technicle name, I just call them that because Tony talks about how he's about to go psych lol.

Lol, also, I was able to pull off 6 one-arm push-ups! Now this is a big deal for me, because I've never been able to do a one arm push-up in my life! I've always wanted too, but never succeeded. I am very happy about this!

Lol, I told you I wasn't gonna stop! I hope you guys have been continuing to bring it too. Here is my most recent pic:

I dunno, you tell me if you notice a difference?

.........Cause it's the X!

I'm ashamed to say this but I fell of the wagon about 3 weeks ago. I haven't worked out and ate crap all this time and regained fat. Looks like I'm back to the beginning again =( I'm disgusted with myself right now.

I need to work on my willpower more.

Why the hell would you make fun of someone for "Shadow Boxing" ? LoL You know how many times Bruce Lee or any MMA fighter has shadow boxed??

there is a big difference between bruce lee practicing form and a fat ginger kid fighting against the corner of the locker room when he thought he was all alone.
