Boycott Chick-fil-A with me!

i've been following this for the past year, and have finally decided...

fuck this. i will never ever eat chick-fil-a again, nor will i abide to going there for any reason with anybody else.

in case you are wondering where this is coming from, Chick-fil-A has, for the past three years, been the nation's second largest financial supported of anti-gay hate groups and political campaigns. they have many times claimed not to be an anti-gay corporation, and every time turned around and donated millions more dollars to organized hate groups such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage. Their CEO has publicly stated many times that Chick-fil-A will always follow a Biblical agenda in terms of gay rights.

across the country, colleges are kicking them off campus because they refuse, as a company, to stop supporting these hate groups. it is high time that i step up and spend ten minutes to announce that i will be boycotting them for the rest of my life, and to ask that anybody concerned with things like civil rights and human equality man the fuck up and do the same.

in his most recent statement about the allegations, Dan Cathy, CEO and president of Chick-fil-A said in an open Q&A forum, that while Chick-fil-A "will continue to support organizations like Focus on the Family, the National Organization for Marriage, and others opposed to LGBT equality, gay people are always welcome to buy chicken sandwiches from our restaurants."

Really? REALLY?

how about instead you go fuck yourself, Dan. Popeye's is better anyway.

Yeah, I've never liked Chick-fil-A since a while back in highschool they wouldn't hire me, looked @ me weird cause of my tattoos, I must say though I love their waffle-fries.

Popeyes IS better, though.

KFC original recipe is the best. Chick-fil-a is rather expensive for the amount of food you get. 12 piece nugget combo is like 8 bucks or something.

We don't have such terrible foods up here.

But Chick-fil-A is the dumbest name for a restaurant ever, and Dan Cathy is a pretty gay name as well. Plus, hating on gays? That's so 1990s. When will America get with the times and just allow gay marriage like the rest of the civilized world.

I support this boycott. I've managed to keep from eating Chick-fil-A so far, won't be hard to keep going.

First off it won't be hard to not eat chik-fil-a because I never liked them in he 1st place. 2nd there is none in Seattle, and 3rd, muthafuckin right Popeyes is better! MuthaFUCK a chik-fil-a!

P.S.

KFC original is the what??? You better get on to that Popeyes bruh.

maybe this should just become the popeyes chicken + luisiana sauce + mashed potatoes on an eggo sandwich thread. it is pretty much my favorite thing ever.

lol here we have something called Chicken Express which has the best chicken around. plus they have fried okra yum yum :D thats where i usually get my chicken. i would love some popeyes as well but closest one is like 30 miles.

Yeah, never heard of it, but, really, I don't go searching for morals in fast food restaurants nor do I spend time thinking what evils what may be indirectly contributing to, though I could understand an anti-stance towards this place.

There's a couple chic-fil-a's around here. That said, I've never stopped into one, they're a little far away and they never send advertisements. I wouldn't know what to think of their "agenda" as a whole, They contribute heavily to NPR and PBS, heck you can usually catch them sporting a blurb before "Talk Of The Nation", before "A Prairie Home Companion" or before "NOVA", and supporting a science program seems like an odd fit for a biblically fervent organization. I don't think they're all bad, considering NPR and PBS are basically touted as the devil by FOX news viewers. At the same time, I did hear that they dumped a lot of money into defeating the gay marriage bill here in California. I suppose it's kind of admirable to see that these people really seem to believe in their bible. Others like Rupert Murdoch or the Koch brothers only fund hate and attacks or only fund science, news and education when it suits them. It's only too bad that in playing their brother's keeper they've built a cage. Considering I've never eaten in one and never planned to, (even less now that I hear it's fried chicken) consider your boycott supported.

You don't want to. I think about that sort of thing all the time and it often ends up making me look like a contentious wet blanket. "Let's go to pizza hut!" "Their 'cheese' is silicone." "Look at these deals from walmart" "Walmart is undermining our economy." Let alone the fantastic deals I miss out on. Sure they're putting Hershey's balls in a vice but my god man, 6 chocolate bars for a dollar?!?

As a poor person this piss me off. Donating money to hate groups, so that they do what exactly? Are they going to hate less with less money lol...this is stupid...I don't even...

here is where the money from your chicken sandwich with the 79 cent add on piece of lettuce goes:

-to pay for election campaigns for politicians who promise to vote against civil rights

-to pay for abstinence education programs which ignore the idea of safe sex and discourage STD education, and which increase the occurrence of hilarious things such as high school dumpster babies and whore cheerleaders who think they can take the D from the whole football team and still be a virgin as long as they stick to anal

-to pay for public service campaigns pushing for the ostracism, outing and termination of gay civil employees and teachers

-to pay for beach houses and crystal meth and male prostitutes for the hypocrite assholes who run the organizations

oh and to produce things like veggie tales, which should be punishable by death in and of itself

i wish i could say i was joking about any one of these things.

Lobo the mormon church didn't pay to oppress anybody. No money ever comes from the church ever to support any form of political campaigns. The money you think came from the mormon church that paid towards prop 8 was merely donations from willing members along with tons of other chirsitan denominations. Please don't confuse this again.

...not even gonna touch that one...

that said, hubbs, i'll go ahead and edit that little bit of info from the OP to avoid the massive derailment that i can smell coming.

Im mormon.

My boss is gay.

Members of my family are gay.

Lots of my friends are gay.

And you, Lobo, are one of the individuals we constantly have to defend ourselves against for the simple reason that you want to be offended by something. The irony here is that you are pretty much doing the exact same thing you are condemning -- attacking a group of people through sheer ignorance.

Clean it up and stop spouting shit you have absolutely no personal experience in.

i pointed out public contributions which i perceive as fact and others have questioned due to the nature of their source, and for that i apologize and have removed it. it is not a debate which i wish to have here, and is completely off topic.

at no point has anybody in here made religious judgments. nobody is attacking anybody. thank you, however, for marginalizing me into a person who wishes to be offended by this...

can i go ahead and just say "case in point" and walk away?

please understand that this has NOTHING to do with religion.
