Also, my respect to all the other players. There's no doubt you were there for a reason. You guys simply are the best!

Congrats to all of the placers. I expected Keev to take it, so I was surprised to see him end up in 3rd. Big props to OmegaDR though, especially with that Sieg.

Toilet going 0-2 with ZWEI wasn't surprising at all. He had a solid ZWEI and his opponents didn't seem to know the match-up well, but it still wasn't enough. At least he made it to Worlds though.
 
Speaking of the commentary, honestly, none of the SC players have the exciting personality/facial and name recognition that it's obvious they're going for. Commentary as a whole is usually a lot of fluff, anyway. if we had someone to explain the higher level stuff and someone t explain the basic stuff while also adding substance to each game (through history, 'hype', stories, etc) we'd be decent.

I didn't know that. I didn't read it on the 8wayrun forums, but when I was searching for streams on Ustream and tournaments on Youtube, there were people recommending the Japanese Soul Calibur V streams. They said that those streams showed how SCV was supposed to be played. I couldn't find any recent Japanese ones on SCV though. I really don't like the Ustream site structure.
 
I wish they get Aris and Tastysteve to do commentary for events like these. The hyped was good, but like you said, zero insight on whats actually happening.

That woulda been amazing! I watch avoidingthepuddle everytime it's on because Aris is so charismatic and has lots great commentary and insight. Plus, no top-of-your-lungs shouting.

It's too bad that'll never happen ever since the reddit circlejerk started their witchhunt against him.

I was also really surprised by the quality of Own3d, had never been on that site. Very impressive and far fewer trolls then Spooky's Twitch channel.

Now you know :-) If you get a chance to watch any French tournaments, certainly do so (I suggest finding the WGC footage and watching that, if you can), and of course the final rounds of the top American tournaments (Winter Brawl, Final Round, MLG-also featuring French players). EVO should be pretty exciting!
 
That was an excellent show from everyone. Only thing I was disappointed by while watching it was the Americans shouting "USA" every god damn 30 seconds. I mean sure every other country know they are condescending pricks, but they just verified it even more :). Extremely enjoyable to watch though.

You know what's funny? I was in a French chat right after Omega beat Akire to win this tournament. I was talking some shit and etc. but i also said come to EVO and shit. A lot of the French said EVO is unimportant doesn't matter. they told me to come to France. Pretty weird, if ya ask me. Who would say that?
