What is lacking

You're missing a huge part of...everything. Casuals are what make games profitable, but hardcore players are what make fighting games thrive and live on past the point where all the casuals and scrubs leave it because it's no longer the cool thing or they can't handle Nightmare, or whatever. It's idiotic to just ignore either and write either group of players off as bad, unnecessary, or whatever. Both are very much necessary for a fighting game. Failure to attract casuls means failure to make a profit, failure to keep a sizable hardcore audience means it's probably an imbalanced pile of shit that won't have a sequel.

Don't take Syn's trolling seriously either.

Also: your hypocrisy. You're talking about how bad hardcore players are about egos with hate on casuals, yet you're prattling on about how hardcore players are so bad and unnecessary to fighting games and implying their inferiority compared to casual players. Very tacky sir, very tacky. If the hardcore audience wasn't important, sites like this would simply not exist; let alone thrive. Literally, your post existing proves that you're wrong.
Casuals may be necessary for business, but they add no value to the community. Honestly, story modes are just a distraction for bad players (who call themselves casuals to compensate for it) from acknowledging they suck and going into training mode. Honestly, if everybody was focused on getting better rather than playing dress up and writing shitty fanfics, the community would be way better. I like to look at casual players as more of a disease: the whole point of FGs is the competitive side.

100% serious.
Doing so would weed out the whiney fanboys/fangirls and do the series a service to the hardcore players. On the flipside we are the minority, however 3 years after release, we're the ones who still play and love it.

Fair enough. I enjoy the game for what it is - I stopped caring about story about the time I started playing Tekken 6 (so 2 1/2 years or so now). :)

Oh well, play who you wish. I don't see how playing Natsu is fun though.

Natsu is extremely fun to use.

What wrong with you?? don't you realise that you beagin rude? just be happy and play the game for your reasons, geez really upsets me that you used such obnoxious way to express yourself

I'm fully aware I'm being rude. You're on the internet, deal with it, lol.
Seriously though, if someone being obnoxious in an internet forum is upsetting, you should thicken your skin a little: you should see the UK FG website neoempire: here's an example:
Raising money for a UK guy to go to EVO.
So we should forget how to be polite and such because we are on the internet?? don't you think doing something for the sake of doing so is wrong?? well forget about it anyway it is not like matter

This game needs more dress up.

Give everyone this costume and I'll be satisfied.

Wait: You find Pyrrha Omega fun and SIEGFRIED boring?
Mind=blown.

Sieg, Maxi and Yoshi are probably the most fun characters in terms of variety, lol.

Too fucking manly, lol.

I find Voldo a personal manifestation of random fun. Tira too, before the nerfs.

Tira is fine, even with the nerfs.

She lost what made her fun for me, personally. A lot of the chances were unnecessary and made her frustrating again where I do not want to go back to SCIV Tira. Had not picked up Voldo as a main since SCIII and forgot why I ever dropped him. So much fun! I think Tira's moveset was not demolished but I no longer feel attached to it.

One things for sure, i would have liked a lot more new characters in general to SCV rather than just Z.W.E.I. and Viola since technically we already knew about Patroklos and his sister through story. and good ol' maxi's babysitting job/group are nearly clones.

Would like characters that look sorta like this and there weapons/designs to show up in SCVI if one is ever created. [The following pictures are examples of such characters from a great and talented artist from Deviant.]

Weapons: Long Sword + Tower Shield
Gender: Male
Classification: Heavy German Knight
Height: Very Tall
Traits: High defensive, long reach, poor offensive, slow
Ethnicity: German
Allegiance: Good/SoulCalibur (With Siegfried?)

Weapons: Kunai, smoke bombs, shuriken, hidden needles, teleport
Gender: Male
Classification: Male Ninja (With a much more violent style as opposed to natsu's)
Height: Short
Traits: High Speed, average damage, decent range, weak defense, slow Critical Edge
Ethnicity: Japanese/African
Allegiance: Neutral (Hired help?)

QzhT1.jpg

Weapons: Giant (Holy) Two-Handed Hammer (Not like Rock, a much more spin based and swingy version with girly animations thrown in)
Gender: Female (Because a female character, a petite one at that wielding a big ass pally hammer would be hilarious)
Classification: Paladin
Height: Short
Traits: Very high single hit damage, very weak combo's, high defense, very slow overall, slow movement
Ethnicity: British
Allegiance: Good/SoulCalibur

Weapons: Dagger, Explosives (Almost like the one from SCIII)
Gender: Female
Classification: Dancer/Thief
Height: Average
Traits: High speed, tricky movements, good combo's, decent long range damage, weak defense
Ethnicity: Egyption
Allegiance: Neutral

Bangoo... since in general he was very highly requested upon. he could wield bow and arrows along with close range weapons to make him a clone of Link or something.

lCiN4.jpg

Weapons: Twin Chain-Blade Whips (Not to copy Ivy's, his dual weapons would remain in a chain-blade whip state)
Gender: Male
Classification: Soul Edge Minion (Like Tira plot wise, but with a dude, could have had potential to be tiras brother, partner or something?)
Height: Tall (To match the great range of the weapons)
Traits: Moderate damage, moderate speed, moderate defensive, extremely high range, very high critical edge potential, high combo potential
Ethnicity: Fantasy (Hey why not? we have a flying lizard that breathes fire in the game now, a guy who can summon a werewolf, and a girl with a floating crystal ball...)
Allegiance: Evil/SoulEdge

Well... I guess a lot of players got into the series because of its atmosphere and story, everybody started as a casual player once.
Cutting it off completely for the sake of solving engine-issues won't help making it more popular, in the contrary.

I would have never gotten into the game if it hadn't "cought" me. (And it didn't catch me with its balance, I started with SC3.)

"What is lacking" - Hmm. This is actually a really great thread in the making. (WARNING, long read.)
Nevertheless, we all have our own perspectives and opinions of on what is lacking from the game. I think the story mode could of been longer (Don't snap at me this instant since I do possess knowledge of the fact that the story mode was 1/4 complete, I know.) Also, I think I remember Namco saying something about "clone characters". But they didn't do too much of that, didn't they. We have about roughly two new styles in this game. (Or three, if you count Lizardman, since he is especially new. Or at least he is, from what I think but then again I don't play as him.) But it all doesn't really bother me too much in all honesty, I'm just happy we got the game in general. Sure, in the next installment I'm expecting a lot better and I expect a lot of things to change, but if all the changes we are all looking for happen to be disliked and bad, that then's a definite problem. With all due respect, I feel that removing the story mode would completely make the flow of the game absolutely different. I can appreciate the storyline for the past games (Definitely not this one lmao) but I think that without a story for the characters, it's pointless. If there isn't a storyline it basically says to me that "Hey, here are some characters which you know nothing about but they're just here. They have names too, but no morals, they're just here for you to enjoy. Have fun." or something among the lines of that. I can easily say that the game's background and story got me into the series (Specifically, I fell in love with SCII first.)
I'd also enjoy more single-player content. It does make the game take longer to die down after all the hype of it's release when there are definitely more activities and things to do in the game, I believe.

And most obviously, moveset changes. They did remove :A+K: , they did. But there's no point crying over it since it's gone. I will say that I am not too satisfied with Pyrrha, but what are you going to do? I wouldn't go out of the way to complain about something this minor. Sure, Pyrrha isn't exactly like Sophitia but I still main her and I've done relatively well online with her. I still use her regardless, and Ω is somewhat a more than decent replacement for me. She's a deadlier Sophie, but her DNS seems toned down rather then Sophie's TAS though. That's the only discrepancy I have. The frames do change across the games most obviously, but you just have to adjust and accept the new changes and play with danger. Play with the new risks, enjoy the fun. And obviously, we all have since we're all still playing the game after many months after release, respectively.
I simply main Pyrrha, Ω and sometimes Elysium because they amuse me. I've always mained Sophitia and Cassandra since SCII and then most obviously that changed, but Pyrrha is still amusing and adorable with her apologies and everything, Ω's sadistic anger makes her more fun to play as, and Elysium's heart of stone personality and although I hate mimics, she is the only exception and because of her I learned the majority of the female styles to play as. (Despite not knowing all of the female styles, she still is an enjoyable character and with her amazingly ranged critical edge and more damage added onto her moveset along with attractive body which is another +.)
