So. Here's something I've been wondering about for a long time: CaS hitbox discrepancies. I want to know how wildly they differ from their original character's hitbox, even when using the recommended size, and why. CaS haters have been throwing this around ever since the game came out, and I want to know the objective facts about this issue.

I know variable height is a contributor to this problem, but I would seriously give up variable height options just to know that my CaS has legit hitboxes, so that I could use her in tournaments and the like. Like... I have two Ellies for Leixia and Patroklos. One is height two and the other's height three. I don't care about the height.

I don't know about the hitbox issues, but you'll never see CAS allowed in tourneys even if they were identical to their originals. People would say that costume parts obscure moves, and each player would have to have their save on a flash drive that would mean loading it between matches, not to mention verifying the save to be sure there are no hacks at work. Its just easier on the event organizers to require use of an existing character.
 
What Hotaru said. Plus, the hit detection on CAS is just plain fucked up. It's not always reliable, look at Devil Jin's style. Sometimes EWGF hits grounded, sometimes it doesn't. Figure that one out :/
 
Do these issues extend to regular character 3Ps as well or are they limited to original characters? I'd think they only apply to original characters, but I'm assuming 3Ps have identical hitbox mechanics to their normal models.
 
Those "3P" models you're refering to are glorified, restricted CAS models. There's good chances they're as wonky as other CAS models, faces and voices be damned.

They are, I had a 22_88A go clean through a Natsu's waist once among various other things. It annoyed me to the point where I deleted my friend's Natsu costume (since this all happened offline). The '3P' models are just as you say.
 
Wait, no way, 3P edits can affect the hitbox?!
Do we have confirmation on this because Siefried's ghost sword could easily whiff a point-blank slice against a static target.

Ass fetish? The most common Natsu-related fetish is for that unsettling bulge in her pants which really shouldn't be there and quite frankly, unnerves me when I fight her. It's like it's watching me...
 
I just noticed that Jun's pants have the underwear color palette so you can't put a proper "red" on them. What the hell Namco?

Good. I say that the most popular ones should be stickied (And useful ones like le bello's tips and tricks) like Gatsu's, yknow, the ones we worship. and then the unfamous people have their own threads that aren't stickied.

It seems unfair on everyone else if the threads that already get shitloads of attention get permanently stickied D:
But yeah, the tips and tricks is pretty useful. Wouldn't mind the two main competitions getting stickied to encourage more entrants.

Yeah, the competitions would make sense (Which would be the two main ones, by the way?)

Welp, now I gotta delete one of every custom costume I've made that isn't a color edit/weapon swap.
