Umm... in what context are you using the adjective: Petty?

Surprise me!
You picked at something small of what I said, a fragment of just a sentence that belonged to an entire article of statements, and points out of my post. Not even aimed at you and you turned that simple statement, that simple fact, and turned it into me trying to get everyone in this movement and uproar about ranks, and treatment of beginners and how rank means everything, and how if your a lower rank then your just bad. Did I offend, you said something about being a C rank previously?

Nah, he's pretty much being slightly haughty and petty. It's natural. Peeps online get like that, but remember the facebook example I mentioned earlier. Anyways, I'll spar with ya when the time is right. For now, I'm gonna shift the topic.

Any chance we'll get a bastard sword user? I swear, I've been waiting for a style like this...

Aren't Sieg and NM to model the Bastard sword style? Sure they wen't a little bit over the top with the sword size but whatever :P

They're Zweihanders. Cool Zweihander wielders. That Daydream and Ciegfired are awesome. *awaits Solo's remark*

Ah yes lol bastardswords are actually also called Anderthalbhander, so the difference should be obvious.

(Zwei = german for two/ Anderthalb = german for one and a half)

A zweihander style I have been sort of waiting for a while now, was that of Strife's from Soul Calibur 3, it was unique, sort of on the wilder side though. Could actually lead to a great character though design personality and story wise.

Even though i like zweihanders, i dont think we need another one. We already have two. They are fairly unique because one is stance heavy and the other one is not, i think it would be pretty hard to make a third one and still remain the same uniqueness for all three.

That's why I also suggested the arming sword. It could be a somewhat standard style centered around frame traps and fundamentals (similar to Pat sans shield, but with less launchers and more pokes, designed to allow you to lock down the enemy with a combination of aggression and active defense). It could also have a stance where he grips the sword in the middle of the blade with one hand (which was used to pierce an enemy's armor), with the focus of the stance being harassing downed opponents and mixing them up on wakeup.

So basically a bit of Leixia (with less evasiveness), a bit of Pat (with less launchers), and a stance similar to Mitsu's mist, but with a different functionality.

Thank you for using a real life example, I do something like that but not so much as how you do, I just punish them on extremely punishable attacks, and just guard slow ones. But thats intresting are you learning Karate, tae kwon do, jeet kune do... etc? Always wanted to learn chinese boxing or jeet kune do myself and Hwoarang from tekken kinda sparked tae kwon do lol.
I do TKD. It's pretty interchangeable with karate though.

Lulz. You're kinda being petty right now. You got Live? Maybe we can spar?

Actually No. I was asking him a genuine question. I'm on PSN as my namesake. If you wish to game you'll need to give me a time and day i can synch with- im in the uk.

No. I asked a question. In which context are you using the adjective "petty". The rest of your ramblings came from your own mind which had nothing to do with my question.

Im still not completly sold on JG. Yes its a nice feature. But im guessing most EVERYBODY doesnt use it correctly cuz i seldom get punished for being JG'd. Right now its just an animation that doesnt serve an entirley useful purpose.

I think they should make it harder to do but give you an actual reward for success. Such ass a guard crush after so many or something other than just "ooohhh look a pretty blue flash...ok now what?"

JG is retarded. It's very helpful to certain characters but completely destroys others. JG ruins single hit characters and when they get a JG for themselves they can't even do much with it. The fact you can JG during tech roll makes it even more stupid. JG breaks the game.

JG is an awesome mechanic. It lets you punish many strings that would otherwise be safe.
Im familiar with JG and what its intended purposes are. I just think they overlooked this "being able to JG a tech trap" thing. And its risk far exceeds its reward due to its required precision input.

Let me clarify....

The actual mechanic i think was a really good idea. Its basically a dumbed down version of a GI, in the sense that it serves a simular defensive purpose, but the whole frame advantage aspect is gone. Me being more a tradionalist in this case, GI gave that exciting frame advantage that made for a more exciting outcome. JG at this point in the games life is rather dull and boring. Id rather see me get major punished for getting JG'd. Yes its a different visual stimulant to my brain that adds something new to SC. Cool...awesome, someone is thinking outside the box, i like it. Just needs more representation in the game than it does now.

TLDR. JG for ME, just slows down the oveall faced pace of the game and not a whole lot more.

Well what solo said...he's right single chars do have it harder since it's easy to JG their strings..but astaroth isn't in so much trouble simply because he has his strong throw game, if u commit to just guarding astaroth u must commit to not ducking alot and breaking his throws. But the just guard into avoiding tech traps seems wrong to me....I mean shouldn't u be awarded for a CH in this example nightmare's 6K on CH into 1A but then JG deny's that...seems lame to me :/

Anyway this is my last talk about Jg and GI! I prefer the Old GI it was not spammy and game breaking imo just look at high level play in sc4 u rarely ever saw guard impacts and parries and they can be baited out easily. And on whiff ur simply getting launched....not to mention it has a tighter window too. With sc5 GI its all a 50/50 if u don't re gi me back u get damaged but then if I do a delay move then ur safe so its either u get hit or not....lame and it cost meter which is why I rarely Gi with zwei because he's very meter dependent.

One thing I don't like about GI is how it requires a BE's worth of meter to activate. That's a bit much IMO - it should be half a BE's worth.
