Dude, just read her profile. It reads exactly like Naruto's. Lets see:

Orphan
Demon sealed inside of her
Rejected by her peers for said demon
One person who treated her as human
Travels with two other people near her age and a master
Hyperactive ninja with an attitude
Blonde hair in a odd hairstyle
Even their names are similar

Taki may not be the most original character, I'll admit, but she's a good example of what she does. What is fully original nowadays, anyways? Natsu is just... annoying. She grates on my nerves and provides nothing for me.

This was also a marketing strategy, since Naruto is so popular, make a character similar to him, would attract the people who like the anime.

And replace one of the most popular and iconic characters in the series? Sounds like a miscalculation. Taki is quite possibly the first female character that comes to mind when people think of Soulcalibur. I was hugely into Naruto at one point, and I guess you could say I still like it even though I haven't followed it in a long time, but I still despise Natsu not just because she replaced Taki (though that is certainly one of the reasons), but also for being a horrible rip-off.

That was the bad part. While a character like Natsu would attract more players into the game, the old fans would be pissed because Taki, who was super popular, got replaced by her.
I guess Daishi believes this was a smart move, but it wasn't obviously.

Likely because her outfit made waves back then, hence the search results. Ivy being brought back in SCV while Taki got cut further increases the search results for her. That's not an entirely reliable way to determine who is more popular.

The fact that Taki beat her out in the popularity poll for starters. Honestly, when SCVI comes around and Taki is inevitably confirmed, her searches will blow through the roof.

A popularity poll that only people who actually follow Soul Calibur on Facebook voted for (only a few thousands)? Yeah, because it's convenient for you. That is not even close to the whole SC fanbase.
