Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

I really like what they did with Mitsurugi's model as he looks like they definitely remodeled his looks from SCI perfectly, but I am a bit disappointed they didn't do the same for Sophitia in SCV. I don'y like that her model looks like it was just carried over from the last game, that or at least her face wasn't designed to look more like a younger version or match what she looked like in SCI. They should just remake all the characters based on their debut facial appearances.
Apparently it's been 4 years between Soulcalibur 1 and Soulcalibur 4. A four year gap from age 21 to 25 I don't think Sophitia would look noticeably older or younger.

I did, but I missed your next post ;)

Well, anyhow, I agree. Figuring out FD is fun. Can't wait to figure out Ivy's 3B is safe, combos on NH, tracks both sides and side steps verticals :P

Yeah and breaks armor in 6ish. I still get Vietcong style flashbacks of the holy Ivy trinity of you, Scud and Malek.

Here is a good question....
Since SCVI is a reboot of SC1, would you like to see Johan Dürer get more importance given to him, and be made playable by being a non-CaS character with his own moveset? He is a canonical character and part of the story as a background character, introduced on SC1.
And what about some other characters in a similar situation, like Salia, Azola, or even SCIII's scrapped character Edgardo for instance?

I'm looking at it with the Dynasty Warriors mentality. lol
Dynasty Warriors games have tons of NPCs and characters that with each new entry (which is a reboot/retelling everytime) they declone characters who were either important or a background player that could help supplement and flesh out either the story or other character connections. So it's not a bad idea.

Salia for instance would be a great additional facet to Siegfried's story to tell and be a character this time around to show that there is a character close to him in Schwarzwind that sticks by him (because she loves him) and took over as Schwarzwind's leader in his absence throughout the years he separates from his band. She could be utilized as someone who stubbornly tries to track him down and help him, show him compassion in his suffering, but he adamantly will refuse and be emotionally distant regarding that kind of connection and relationship with someone (which looking at the current canon, he doesn't bother with it probably because he just feels cursed and doesn't want someone else to have to go through what he's had to to any extent of the imagination).

Having and showing someone directly affected by what he's going through/goes through with the Soul Swords, Nightmare and all that in the early part of the story where it all begins for him to that extent in Soul Calibur's story (now being retold) would be an even better alternative take on the storytelling since you'd get to see and know he didn't have to suffer alone, though he chose to. Not wanting to burden people with his pain and everything he had to go through.

Are you giving us away some part of the SC6 plot or am I reading into too much lol
I understand your point about her but aside from the fact that I really don't like her or whole SchwarzWind thing , I'd like to see more of the roster characters as a part of story (even if they aren't playable ) rather than a side character.
I think Siegfried is the most complex and interesting character in the game that even if they give us glimpse of his psychologic state(like his visions about Nightmare) and his relations with main characters would be perfectly enough to flesh out his story.
Plus maining him since SB I've always liked about his not letting people reach him and trying to get over his problems by himself attitude aka being the lonely warrior.
So instead of someone even trying to reach him I would love to see him doing killing sprees in his sleep and struggle against turning completely into Nightmare.

That sounds pretty good.

But my dream for the storyline would be something like this:

Still can't sleep at night? ;)

That was a long time ago...I think new Ivy players will emerge and take our place.

I do think people would change in 4 years, especially the fact that she has had 2 kids in that span. At 21 I'd think she should still look closer to a young adult or older teenager, while after having children she should look more noticeably older. Though realism out of the way in that area I think her SE look just looked more distinctively youthful for the age she is.

I just really like this picture here, even though I know Sophitia has had many different faces over the years.

I don't see why the game can't be set over multiple points in time, maybe even multiple timelines, this is a fighting game after all... We've always seen multiple endings for each character in the past despite an overarching plot and what might be referred to as the 'canon' ending although really it's just the way that they determine the start of the next game.

Having all that would open the way to include any and every character they want from previous games. They can make it all fit together in the grand scheme if they want for the next game the way they always have... I still say having a single story that forces you to play certain characters instead of choosing a character and playing through individual stories for each one is a bad idea.

Seems like something you'd have in an RPG and it's not where fighting games have always shone through and stood out from all the rest.

On top of character endings, they should bring back that neat feature where customizations you have made on your character show up in their endings, exactly like they did in 4. It was in game, but the in game graphics looked good anyways.
