Bah les 7 restants ça sera dans le saison pass HA :)

Cassie and Sophie aren't clones, wth are you talking about!!
JAMAIS! Je les veux day one, bordel de sainte queue d'ours :3

And I thought you meant like Sectus explained, clones being characters with the same weapons. I do agree that Pat and aPat and Pyrrha and Oprah shouldn't be placed on two differents spots.

Not at all. I want all the characters from SCIV to be present (except for guests and bonus), we can remove ZWEI and Viola, change newcomers with the ones they replaced, and voilà, 27 fairly unique characters. Because, despite your claim about clones, you can't say Sophitia and Cassandra play the same even though they have the same weapon.

SC4 Roster was really perfect to me, the only downside of 4 was the insta KO thing and the fact that the game is slower that the older were (plus the solo mode is kind empty compared to SC3)

It seems they will go for a 2018 release and milk the hell out of it with DLCs until 2019 which is sad.

I could wait an extra year for the final product if it means we will get the complete character roster that this franchise deserves.

I knew it would happen but I just cannot accept it specially when they are reusing assets from previous games.

Colour me disappointed. I was waiting for at least 24-25 right from the beginning. Because well, size matters in Soul Calibur just as much as in any other fighting game. It implies that they are actually getting rid off veteran-old school characters that should have been there.

This is how I am feeling right now ( from 0:51 to 0:55)

Unless things change in the end... but I really doubt it. I have never wanted to be more wrong than now.

As a side note, my hopes for Amy to return from the begginning (if at all) have already vanished after seeing the new info. Why did they do the popularity poll? Just to know what characters could sell better as downloable content?

I'm sick of all these websites sending "journalists" to mash for a match and calling it gameplay. How hard can it be to find people who care about the game and know what they're doing?
Developers themselves have lost their interest for the games and don't really know what they're doing, so no wonder journalists are on the bandwagon...

They already have my money since I'm buying it for both PS4 and PC, so I will complain about the roster size. I know it's salty. I know I said I wouldn't complain about the roster since it was so lucky to get a SCVI....

But 20 characters was below even what I thought was the bare minimum they would do.

I refused to buy the Tekken 7 season pass day one because we had no idea what characters would be added and then would the future support for that title would be. After seeing their DLC it's clear the season pass is a ripoff at that price and so I'll be waiting for a steam sale.
--------

Since they are clearly reusing assets for the character models you can say that Hwang has no chance of returning. They need to be able to pull a character model from SCIV or SCV.

Part of initial development caused huge delays in progress though, so assuming it took a year of development and then they reworked everything, the time variable for 3 years is different to the remaining 30%

The base roster might be:

Nightmare
Siegfried
Taki
Mitsurugi
Yoshimitsu
Sophitia
Voldo
Astaroth
Seong Mina
Rock (I can't believe I'm saying this)
Ivy
Lizardman
Kilik
Maxi
Xiangua
Cervantes
Guest
New Character
New Character
Mimic/Boss/New Character

Why? Because all of these characters appeared in Soul Calibur V or IV. Therefore their models are available to touch up/give the unreal treatment for SCVI.

Hwang was not in those games and thus has no model available to pull. Edgemaster could be the mimic but it depends on how many new characters there are, if the boss is a new character and if they really are going to commit to a guest character.

Remember SCIV has no mimic character and even Tekken 7 didn't have a mimic.

Then for DLC they could do the missing characters who were in IV and maybe even from V.

I don't care how garbage tier she is as long as she's in the game

Sure

This is one of my followers

Say hello to your queen

Don’t be jealous she has a bigger and better fan base than your fav and don’t come for the last wind priestess again.

I'm not jealous of a unviable character.

Both hits OTG and leave mitsu BT, should be good for oki

Mitsu has the A+B:B again. That guard break move made it's first appearance in Broken Destiney.

Right well imma just say that I'm quite concerned how few character and stage slots there are, I can only hope they're for the default selection, and more will be unlockable. It would be a massive kick in the balls if they introduced DLC stages and characters.

I still most likely will get all the DLCs (hopefuly a Season Pass), but it would just be sad to see that. DLC CaS parts, ok. Characters and stages? Just please add them in updates...

Eh, I don't like it that with almost every ground-pound there're flying rocks everywhere. Too much of this... :/

I agree with you. I deeply hate all those flying rocks on the ground (not only that but they disappear after one milisecond)... It's unrealistic and annoying if implemented like they did in here. They should have done it in a more subtle way or not do it at all.

It feels lazy and gets boring pretty fast.

It kills the immersion for me.

On the other side, the music shines again.

20 isn't a "few" I'd hate for this narrative to start because it's problematic.
Every other game has more than that. Except indie games, and Soul Calibur has higher standards than that.

Are we already being spoiled and this game looked like it had next to no chance of being a thing a week ago?
Yeah, it didn't have a chance of being a thing a week ago, even though its been in development for quite a few years. Not the slightest chance of being a thing. There was not a single time when the developers said the series were taking a break or being put on hold, if anything, they actually gave small hints that they were working on something, even though it took a long time.

A small roster allows them to focus and develop.
Random excuse for lack of a content that should be abundant. Characters are not random stuff you can just reduce the number of and put efforts elsewhere, characters are the main thing of any fighting game, because they are the ones we'll be playing as, and as such, they must be as numerous and diverse as possible. If they were to make a small roster with that excuse, every single other aspect of the game (graphics, story, single player content, server, bugs, voice acting, effects, CaS, designs, and anything else I may be missing) must be ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY FLAWLESS.
