Oddballs, mostly. Roger/Alex, Wang, Ganryu. It was a long-shot, but I was hoping that I'd get thrown a bone with there being 6 characters. As it is, only Lei and AK hold much of any appeal to me in that lineup. And what they came up with for Lei's story feels like a personal attack.

I doubt it. No one but Nightmare gets Soul Edge in VI, and no one but Xianghua gets Soul Calibur, despite the models for those variants existing in IV.

I think they could sample Hwang's unique stuff from SCI through III AE, plus a few new things for VI, and come up with a take on the dao that ends up pretty distinct from Yun's own. If they can have Kilik and Mina without issue, Siegfried and Nightmare without issue, and if they add Cassandra...

Yeah. Around 300 items are missing from SCV. It does take time to port them, I'm sure, but it is a disappointingly large number.

I like Hwang, but he was never the Ryu or Akira of Soul Calibur. That's Mitsurugi. Hwang was a secret character back in the arcade version of Soul Blade, and even in the console version he shared most of his moves with Mitsurugi. He was also a time-release character in SoulCalibur, and again...

Yeah, that's one I'd like to see them revisit for sure. I might be misremembering, but he was less stance based in SCIII than Maxi, right?

You can look to Talim for ideas on that. Some inconsequential SCII prequel stuff, most likely. Although that's if DLC characters do get Soul Chronicles. I don't know that Tira having one is proof enough, given that she was clearly developed alongside the base roster.

Kills me that SCIII has so many faces and has facial hair as a separate category. Not counting the facial-hair repeats, it has more faces than SCV, which had built upon SCIV. Sure a few of the faces are ...distinct and without too much general use, but you've got to appreciate that they modeled...

Over half way through mastering the styles in LoS, evil route. The Inferno fight has appeared, but I've ignored it so far. Anything else I should try? God damn this ancient Voldo though. This jerk already gets extra health, and he blocks everything! Get like 4-5 guard crushes on him per match...

Thanks for explaining that. I had an issue where I fought three of those dudes but the fourth would never spawn. I was pretty high level by that point though. Guess I'll catch it during my blue-side playthrough. Frustrating that the encounters stop functioning correctly when you get to a high level.

The boobybutt succubus on top of the Gorgon helm has always hampered its use to me. I mostly like the design otherwise, though it has a spikes-spikes-and-more-spikes ordeal going on like a lot of SCIV helmets.
