Cervantes Matchup: Discussion

Be sure that you maximize your punishment against her. Cervantes can aB her WS K, which is one of the most effective ways to discourage spamming it. Beyond that, you want to keep your distance and try to hold her at bay with things like 2A, 6A, etc, and bait her into whiffs. Fighting her at point blank is a really bad idea.
 
Also spam aB to zone her out, its quasi safe if spaced correctly since 66B is a frame to slow to punish. Really really annoying for Natsu to deal with.

Natsu 66B is i17 and a punish to aB at all ranges except for the tip of the horizontal part of the attack and absolute tip range of the attack in general. She also gets 66K which is 40 damage at all ranges. Effectively making aB in this MU too risky to just throw out.
 
You can actually punish a lot of her stuff with aB, can't remember all the commands off the top of my head but her A+B, WR AAA, WR K, A:6 are some of them.

She obviously has other punishable moves but these are the ones between -11 and -14 with no push out that aB can punish.

As I've told Cortez, if are patient and don't eat bombs, you should be able to out damage natsu easily. I'm not sure what cervys answer for 66b is but if he has a consistent punish for it, even easier.
 
I'm with Hates. Keeping her at bay is key as she's deadly annoying at her range. As you start taking out 90-110 dmg from her whiffs, you mold the situation in your favor. Just keep her off you with pokes.

Also learn her movelist and frame data so you know when you can do things and when to not (This applies for everybody). Is sad to see people not ducking her 66B BE's second hit and not punishing it for example. Although, a good Natsu wouldn't use that out of guaranteed dmg. However, there are still a lot of bad Natsus around.

PS. add AAB to the aB punish list.
 
Aab is strange depending on what range it is blocked. If pont blank then it sure will punish, there is a grey zone where it might whiff though.
 
Yeah, forgot to add depending range. But it's still good considering not everyone can punish it in the game and they tend to abuse it because of that fact.

66B is safe against Cervy.
 
I was thinking 4K too but it's probably the same as with Pyrrah's 3B, only seems to hit sometimes.

Also WR B+K punishes her 66B BE when you duck the 2nd hit, but I don't see why any good player would do this unless it was guaranteed to hit.
 
Omega is one of Cervy's hardest matchups imo. I think when you are playing a really good one spacing out DNS B with bA is really good. Also remember you can aB her 66a, 66k (unlike Pyrrha's) and NS A and B of course.

You can aB regular Pyrrha's 66K. For regular NS B you're better off taking the 66B or super pro iGDR punish than an aB.
WR B and B+K are important things to punish also against Ω.
