Ahaha... I like happy endings most of the time but if the ending is so well written and it's so tragically sad that I cry for days whenever I think of it, then I go for the sad ending. (But Romeo's and Juliet's death...I considered it a happy ending) >=)
I've only had endings that made me rage but I've never thought any of them was great lol. Especially in animes where you're like..."lol what?" After twenty episodes, you just leave and say this is for the best? What?!
Let the Right One In has a great but disturbing ending.
What I thought was the ending for SC5 would have been good, where the (good) brother kills the (evil) sister, would have liked to see how he would have lived with his actions. But nope, it was really a walk-into-sunset ending.
That's the current thing I'm asking. It would be so easy to have Emily and Cassandra just walk off. It would be so easy for Emily dying to atone for what she does throughout the story. It would be too easy.
How will she live with what she has done (and what others have done to her)? What would she be like at 30 years old?
I know who has to die, but I don't want to think about it right now.
