My tips for tourneys is being prepared. Knowledge wise, skill wise, and physical wise. Like do your research on the people you are going to play beforehand and try have a good understanding on how to play against their characters. Also make sure the combos and strategies you use are the most effective ones.

Also make sure whatever your plan is, that it is consistent and can be done multiple times. But more important imo is getting plenty of rest and psyching yourself up for the tourney. Remember to eat during the tourney and drink plenty of water. Sounds silly, but most people forget to do this and it obviously will effect gameplay.
