GGs to Mr.Meathook! Those Aeon mirrors were a blast (a surprisingly fun mirror match I have to say) and trolling with side characters was fun too. I got hit by lots of embarrassing stuff (1B BE dead trap multiple times lol) but now I actually know the matchup so all's good :D
You have to step in the direction that they swing their arm for it to work. Since Astaroth grabs with his right arm and swings from right to left you have to step to his left to dodge the grab, otherwise you just step into his hand. I imagine that Ivy is the same, although she's the opposite...
I'll read up more on the 22G glitch because I'm still not entirely sure on how it works and there might be a trick to the inputs. I wonder if there are any TC moves Aeon can cancel into while stepping postflash, although I highly doubt this will work. It might be that Aeon just doesn't step fast...
I tried that already, and it doesn't work either, sadly. Aeon does start to step after the flash, but her arm catches him anyway, regardless of what direction he's moving.
Theory time: Asty swings his arm in a downward and somewhat vertical angle, so you can escape through the space subsequently left open whereas Ivy swings her arm completely horizontally, which covers much more area than Asty's so that's probably why it doesn't work.
Doesn't look like it's possible with Ivy's. Must be due to the way she swings her arm. Either that or I'm not inputting it fast/accurately enough but I was getting Asty's no problem so I don't know if that's the case.
In case anyone didn't know, you can totes do the command grab CE dodge glitch trick exploit hack thing with Aeon.
So far I can only do it on the 2P side while holding my stick upside down though XD
I don't think so. Aeon's backstep is godlike but his 8 way run speed (excepting forwards) is fairly slow, whereas Voldo has the fastest 8 way run speed in the game but his steps aren't exemplary.
I guess I'm not being creative enough with mine, because usually my opponent just steps and I'm left in no better position than before. It doesn't help that the camera effect that happens when he flies over the opponent is really disorienting and usually confuses me just as much as my opponent >_>
Sorry I haven't been contributing much lately, Guild Wars 2 had claimed my soul for a while but I managed to escape it's grasp. I wish I had a capture card so I could put up some decent quality videos, but I don't so I can't ;(
Also, when you do 66B to SW BE, the fire breath comes out like...
A neat trick I found out is one you get your opponent to respect 66A, you can do 66 and then press an unassigned button to "fake" 66A and get them to stop stepping and guard. It's a stupid but fun little mindgame that you can do every now and then to get run up throws or 2K or whatever...
They both break in 11, which is better than stuff like 3B and 1B I guess. 4B+K is my favorite move to cause the GC though. I think that if you play Aeon in a way that really focuses on his guard damage then his GC game can be effective, but I have a lot more success with just using throws and...
I don't think it's a problem with him being incomplete, I think it's just how the character is fundamentally built. He has good GC moves but the only ones I would consider as conducive to main his gameplay are WR B and 4B+K. The rest are really situational outside of just working on guard gauge...
