I haven't been using 4K so I'll check that move out. Honestly I haven't been using the kick button much on Raph, just A and B. What do you mean by block-punishing? Like can I punish them for blocking my stuff or the other way around? (new to some of the Soul Calibur terminology lol) I'll try to...
Been playing Raph for a few days now and I'm really starting to like him. I'm having problems against sidesteppers though. What are my go to moves to punish them? My game mostly consists of 5A/5B, 66B, 22B, 5A+Ba, and a few other moves. Pretty basic stuff, I know, but I'm just a Soul Calibur...
Yeah, I play Dhalsim in SF4 and Jin in Blazblue. Another character I was interested in was Leixia but I hear she is more of an aggressive character so I don't think I'd be comfortable playing her.
Hey everyone. I'm new to the SC universe and I have a question. I'm more of a defensive player when it comes to fighting games. I watched a few videos of Raphael and he seemed like a good fit for me, but I'd like to hear opinions on his general playstyle. To me he looked pretty defensive with...
Hey everyone. I just bought Soul Calibur 5 since it looks pretty dang fun. I'm not new to fighters but I am new to the 3D genre. My main question to start off with is which character(s) I should try? I am more of a defensive player that likes to keep people out of my personal bubble with good...
I also think Z.W.E.I will be a lot better than everyone thinks he is. As far as I know, this is the first time that his kind of character was put into Soul Calibur. You need to give people time to figure him out.
I read that the Future Press guide has a tier list created by "the pros" in it. Can someone with access to the guide post the list?
EDIT: Found it. Not really sure how true it is... take it with a grain of salt. Also let me know if I shouldn't post stuff from the guide on here "for free". I'll...
Good to know that I'm not the only one having issues with that move. I can kind of see how it is good but I usually get punished for using it. It's too easy to dodge in my opinion.
Also, I have a question. Someone suggested that I should try 3B AAB into CE then do a back grab into a 3B AAB 9K...
So I'm really new to the Soul Calibur universe. Can someone link me to a good write up about JFs? I'm not sure how they work but I really want to main A. Pat.
I would like some clarification on this too. I did it once in a match against Seig but I couldn't redo it. Can't fully test it myself since I don't own the game.
I'm new to 3D fighters as well. I can't give you any specific advice but you should read this thread: http://8wayrun.com/threads/3d-movement-for-dummies.5277/. You should read most of the stuff in the Soul Calibur Tactics forum too. Remember, knowledge is power!
Exactly this. IMO the video is a bit misleading... JG is really hard to pull off. Just as an example a parry in Third Strike has ~5 frame window. JG feels like a ~1-2 framer.
I apologize if this has been asked before.
So there are two different inputs for throws in SC4 and SC5. Is there a visual effect that I can react to to know which throw is being used, or is a 50/50 guessing game the entire time?
