Ancient Symbol in Soul series, need explanation.

There is this symbol that keeps showing up in the soul series that I would at the very least like to know what it is called. So if someone knows and could help me out, that would be awesome........ Or maybe no one knows and it'll be lost to history forever lol................................

When/where do they pop up? I'm not familiar with it.

I have no clue as to what its supposed to mean.
It appears a lot in Soul Edge/Blade.
In Voldo's stages too. In sc4 & sc2 i think.

Hmmmmmmmmm.... looks like a seal symbol. I'll bring out my SC games after tmrw (got two finals tmrw) and rummage through, as well as the artbook and see if I can dig up something. Good eye though! :D

I wish I had the artbook, I was thinking about getting it. Also, this symbol only appears on the labyrinth stages of each game. Soul Calibur 1 doesn't have one and I couldn't find the symbol in any of the stages. Haven't checked SCV yet though.
