Chrono Trigger

wait the DS has a new ending? I haven't beaten it yet (i mean i've beaten it many times already so it's not high priority on my DS) but i heard there wasn't a new one lol

Apparently the new ending (well most of the new content anyway) is supposed to make a link with Chrono Cross. I've never played it though, so you can easily imagine myself going "wtf" when I saw this ending...

The new ending reveals that magus actually finds schala (Aka the dream devourer) and even with the help of chrono and co. they are unable to stop it. With Schala's last ounce of sanity she explains no amount of power can stop her now (which explains the need for chrono cross, as it represents hate & love..not power), and she sends everyone to safety. Magus takes doesn't take well to dissapointments and decides that he himself is pointless if there is no way to free her. He ceases to exist by erasing his own memories, he later awakes with just a feeling that he needs to do something. This may expain that magician guy in chrono cross looking so similar to magus.

Eh...I just wish they could come out with a true sequel to chrono trigger myself. I enjoyed Chrono Cross, but Trigger had awesome characters while cross had 35 or so pointless ones...

well i'm one of the WEIRDOS that prefer Cross to Trigger, i LOVED the abnormally large amount of character you could choose from, requiring multiple play through to go back and get the rock star instead of the magician, etc..... not to mention that Another World theme is soooooooooooo beautiful lol.

But ya id like a sequel as well,

Valid points...I loved Chrono's combo system though. And that was mostly missing except for a few rare examples in chrono cross. Cross did have some awesome tunes though. Couldn't put my finger on it though, it just seemed the production value for cross was just lower compared to Trigger. I'm pretty sure that had to do with not Toriyama on bored but...eh..

Best moment in Cross was when the Crono, Marle , and Lucca child ghosts were screaming that it was your fault the good future they created ceased to exist. Epic song of "future never to exist" comes in...who knew there was a song for that?

wich will create Chrono Break...in 4 years...the story (cross) confused the shit outta me...trigger was better by far, i did liek cross

lol All Chrono Cross does is explain how you destroyed the future of a alternate timeline since you created it (actually schala's doing). How can Crono and friends save a seperate timeline if only one existed when they did it?

And also find and saving Schala from a evolved lavos that destroys time itself...thats not complicated...right?? RIGHT?! -head explodes-

btw the magician Guile does have a connection to magus. There is a japanese game that explains it, but I don't remember what the game is called.

What were your parties people?

CT: Chrono Robo Ayla

CC: Harle Glen Irenes

Hmm for a majority of the hardest dungeons (Undersea Palace, Black Omen) Crono and Ayla were a must...Spammed Falcon hit all the way through. I usually threw in Frog since he has decent attack and enough healing to keep everyone up and running.

But after maxing out all the characters stats a few points became painfully obvious....Crono is Hax...Luminaire strongest solo, multi hit attack and even with an absurd physical attack (confuse) that combos well with the magic users. Magus, is a total cruch to the party...Dark Matter is out damaged by Luminaire and he has no duel techs....but he does have the bad ass factor...If only he had a Duel Tech with Crono...Lumin Matter or something...that would have been awesome.

When fighting Lavos-Crono, Marle, and Lucca baby all the way. Luminaire, Antipod 3....and when one is healing Ice Sword 2, or Fire Sword 2. Those are simply the strongest attacks by far when all stats are maxed.

Chrono Cross...Serge...and uhh..er...Kid...Can't remember any other character since they were all mostly forgettable..Eh, anyone else I found remotely useful...and since everyone sort of leveled at the same pace..it never really mattered to much..especially since everyone can cast the same spells...ugh..just thinking about these facts makes me sick...Not only are the characters forgettable but since you can equip with all the same healing or attack spells...they were technically bland as well.

ah CT, so goooooooooooood. There's no reason not to have Ayla on your party if you have your level maxed out. Lvl ** Ayla + Dragon's Tear = 9999 damage all the time
