General Character Playstyles????

What are the general strategies for each character? Is there a place to see that Astaroth is a grappler, or that Hilde is a long range footsie character?

I am a new player looking to get real into this game and I am looking for a quick style breakdown of each characters playstyle, anything would help!

Aside from character archetypes id say your best bet is to just go shopping in the character select screen in training mode and see who fits you the best. Don't over think it. Just load them up, move through all their moves and try them for yourself. My preference even changes from game to game so its easy to shop around.
