I just wanted to officially check in and say hello to all the frequent forum users :) I'm new to SC and know nothing about the game. My friend played IV for a long period of time and we would play against each other and have a few brews. It was a lot of fun so I decided to pick it up and give it a shot. I've been playing with Tira. I know nothing about tiers and plan to keep it that way lol. I'm using her because I have the most fun with her. Anyway, I hope to have some discussions with you all very soon!

Hi TotteryManx. Welcome to 8wayrun! I am one of the moderators for this section and I'm here to help! So you're new to SC eh? Then you've come to the right place! We have everything you need to learn the game. First though, you'll want to familiarize yourself with the different notations, buttons, and acronyms you'll seewhen you browse the forums. You can always go back to that post for reference. If you run into something you don't recognise or something that isn't covered in that post, then just post your question here or send me a PM. That's what I'm here for!

Once you feel comfortable with that, you should take some time and check out Tira's Soul Arena
You'll be impressing your buddy in no time after you've studied there for a bit.

Other than that, it seems like you're a very casual player. So I won't bore you with all of the other details, but if you're ever interested in competing in tournaments and stuff, feel free to ask! Welcome again!

As someone who has been in your stage before, it's generally more fun to play against buddies you know offline because it's not like online: easy to stir up animosity. However, this isn't what I'm doing to you. Just saying hello and pretty much gonna leave this friendly advice here: If you get tired of being smacked around by your buddies and want to stand up against them for better competition, be sure to ask Enkindu or whoever you see fit to help your game a little or more. We're all like family for the most part and love to help those in need. Especially scrubby ol' me.

Enkindu; Yes I am a casual player right now with SC, but that's only because I'm just starting out. I've played SF and MK competitively, but had more fun with MK. It's rare to find a fighting game where you can lose and still have a blast playing the game regardless of the outcome. I feel like SC is 1 of the few. So expect me to be asking questions very soon :)

Poki; Thanks for the welcome. I will always prefer to play offline, but I may give online a shot. Hopefully the netcode isn't atrocious :(

the netcode for sc4 is really bad. if you have the means to play offline then you should stick with that.
 
Welcome, I am a scrub too in this game. ^^
If you plan to play online, then you better prepare for the worst.

Every player online is a veteran. I've played over 100 games now and none of them was a noob like me. That's really painful. I won only 35-40 games so far.

I think it's better to wait for SC5 in terms of online play...

shes just for playing around with until you learn her but when you do get good with her shes still just as much fun to play!
 
Hello welcome to the Community!

A soul arena basically is an organized history of threads that address the chracter (tira) These threads can include: Combos, strats, Matchups (dont believe them, they are merely a guide IMO) , general questions: How do i do this move?, and many more things.

would you like to hear my story regarding online play? It totally makes you not want to play online anymore....

EDIT: aww i didnt scan the thread too well. Enk already posted her SA but im just going to leave the definition of it. I deleted the link to her SA.
