i will say right now i am not an expert player. i am proficient, and i am working hard to get better but i am not an expert so keep that in mind with any advice. i play with a gamepad on a 360 online, i just cant swing hundreds of dollars for an arcade stick atm.

i recently got destroyed by a kilik player named "Fresh Stewie" using a custom yellow and purple costume. "stewie" was an excellent player in his or her own right and certainly deserved the wins, but i noticed that "stewie" made extensive use of a specific move that i just can't seem to find a way around, at least not at medium or long range.

i do not know the name of the move but i will describe the animation. kilik would dodge back (similar to mistsu's 4b) then attack forward with a straight stick for a single hit that hit low. the thing is, this attack seemed to track sidesteps like nuts, came off very quickly and pretty much kicked my ass. i am at a loss as to what to do. using this attack and a couple of more conventional spinny type moves that hit med then low and low my opponent was able to keep me at range with ease. i can handle the spinny thing somewhat but this kind of dodge then hit low thing is just death.

i would really appreciate any advice, and thank-you in advance for your consideration of my question.

...

btw, if any of you have simple advice for beating ivy i'd appreciate that too.

i will oblige your call for help, sir. but NEXT TIME, if you have specific questions, please use the 'Q&A' or 'Mitsu vs.' threads for organization's sake.

the move you're talking about is 4B+K. this is steppable, but mitsu has horrible step, so this is ineffective. you're online, so you can probably get away w/ a WS B after 4B+K on block, then you get a free mixup after. a much easier solution would be to 4B/4 if you know the 4B+K is coming.

since you say he is getting this for free against you, you might wanna ease up on pitbulling against him, cause he's probably baiting an attack from you and then dodging your attack w/ 4B+K. actually, pitbulling against kilik is not a smart move for asura-based reasons.

my advice on ivy is: pay attention to what stance she's in, and space accordingly. WP means get up close, SW means back up a little, CL means watch out for 214B. also, don't forget to take your free 2A/AA/BB on block when you can.
