Hi everyone!

I figured it would be appropriate to introduce myself. I'm Axl, or Red. I'm called both, so either is fine. John works too! lol I play virtually any fighting game I can get my hands on that interests me, which is most. I also love platformers.

I whore the lower mid tiers, in basically all the games I play, as you'll see by my signature. I'm a Jack of all trades; master of none with fighters. I'm very mid level play in all the games i play, except for Soul Calibur. I have no concrete knowledge of the metagame, although my Talim in sc3 wasn't half bad ; ). I'm attracted to the relative simplicity of command lists in this game, not needing to memorize as much frame data as in, say, Tekken. I look forward to being part of this community, and I hope to get much better by doing so! I main Talim/Tira, with much more success with Talim, due to obvious reasons lol

On a little more personal side, here are a few things you might want to know. I don't watch a lot of t.v. I'm a single father, and a fairly busy one at that lol. I love classical music. I draw, and otherwise play in photoshop. I'm a very normal person, I think. Just a guy who really likes fighting games.

Well that's about all I can think of for now. I hope to make a few friends here, and maybe ask someone to help me learn this game on a competitive level. Well, that's that. See you all in the forums I guess! ^_^
 
Pocky Yoshi says hello. Pleased to meet you. I like that you use Yoshi and Asuka from Tekken. Those are the characters I main in Tekken 6. In Soul Calibur, I happen to be a Yoshi and Mi-na user. So perhaps one of these days, we can spar for some good lulz after I get a new PS3. Until then, I'll leave it to Enkindu and company to help direct you. So please wait until then =) *cues elevator music*

@Pocky-Yoshi: Fellow Asuka user huh? I'm not a fan of mirrors, the other person always wants to "show ya how its done". My Yoshi isn't fantastic, but I have fun with him. I hope to play you soon, in any game really. Hope you get a new PS3 soon! Be sure to let me know when you get another one, and I eagerly await Enkindu and Co.'s arrival, or our crossing paths in the forums, whenever that may be.

I hope Talim is in SC5, all grown up : ) I like her play style and although I'm willing to learn another character, I'd rather keep her as my main. I wish razor storm (BT B+K, A+B) was more easily accessed, like it was in SC3 (WC A+B).. I miss SC3 Talim lol

I'm not that great with them either, but I'm cool with mirrors. As long as no elitism goes on, I'm easy to get along with. Anyways, I'll PM or announce when I get a PS3.

Anytime, Mage. I'll try to have fun, this is a big learning experience for me! I typically try to unravel games on my own, but for this game, I'd like to learn it right the first time around. ^_^

Hi Axl, smart move there. Self learning usually takes much longer and produces many bad habits. Hope to see you around and if you have any questions feel free to ask

Will do Spider! I'm self taught in Tekken, and relearning the meta-game was hell honestly. I'm self taught in most 2d fighters, and after a long enough time, I've picked up better habits through playing people who studied the game first. It took significantly longer. Are you on PSN Spider? I hope I learn the game correctly here the first time around!

But honestly playing online is a poor decision if you don't have solid offline skills first. The reason is because of lag input for all moves. It's recommended to find some friends offline and learn strategies here (while not getting too much better than your friends as you learn)

I see. Well unfortunately, I live in a new area, where I don't really know anyone. Very quiet, small town, so I'm lacking considerably in the 'friends' department now. I spend a lot of time in the training room though, so that helps with combo practice, just not so much with practicing strategies. After I get a better grasp on the game, I'll add you on PSN and we can get a few matches in, get critiqued n' what not. :P

No kidding!? ^_^ I lived in Cleveland my whole life, but I now reside in.. Huber Heights. Its just outside of Dayton. Veeeerrry boring place, but its a good place to raise a kid. I can't complain. lol
 
Maybe you can be like RTD and bring your kid with you to tourneys? :) There are a few people around the area so hopefully we can get a scene going in the next 6 months. Maybe bring some action to Huber Heights
 
I never got alerted of these messages... odd. I'm sure I could drag the kid along. She's a perfect little girl.. 90% of the time lol I would LOVE to have a scene down here. I'm sure Dayton has a scene, but Dayton is... seedy, and that's coming from a Cleveland native! lol Well keep in touch! If you set something up, and I'm around, I'd love to get my head bashed in, in a game I only know combos in lol
