How do ranked points work?

Sometimes you win and get like 150...other times 55. I thought you got more points by really wailing on someone for 3 rounds but now I just dont know. Anyone explain how this works?

I'm not sure on the exact formula, but I believe it has to do with your rank and the opponent's rank. I think you get more if you win against a higher ranked opponent.

It's basically a screwed up, crippled elo system that is more to make players feel good about themselves than really indicate player skill.

What Wombat said, but unless I'm not mistaken it also changes according to the number of rounds won and health remaining at the end of each round for both players. Do better against stronger opponents, get more points.

Apparently winning what is a rank down match for you gives you a crapload of points as well. Lost to an A1 sitting at 0/5000 yesterday, I got +4 and he got +400. Trippy.

Oh, did I make that unclear? I meant to say that I received 4 for losing while the A1 player received 400 for winning. I should've worded it better -_-

EDIT: Unless you're referring to points earned via Player Matches. I can't recall the specifics, but I know there's some situation where you can end up earning no points for winning while your foe earns point for losing. Dammit, now I'm curious about it.

lol no, I randomly beat someone on ranked and they got more points than me. I think thats a sign of a broken system.

I shouldn't start my sentences half way into them xD
