Hwang Basics

Windstar

[13] Hero
Complex is probably the best way to describe him.

Hwang possesses at least three Stances and four auras that all tie into his new heavenly arts specials and follow ups. He has a lot of risky setups that can yield some good returns, but needs to carefully balance that risk as the fight drags out or he’ll start off with less health with each successive round.

Or, you can ignore all that and yolo like nothing matters. Seems to work sometimes.

First, let’s go over the auras.

A+K2 : Green Aura, defensive healing. Recommended aura for beginners.
A+K6 : Red Aura, Aggressive, lethal hit focused Aura.
A+K8 : Blue Aura, neutral, guard breaking focused aura.
Soul Charged A+K4 : Gold aura, restores life force, cancels SC-state. All hits are counter hits.

Next let’s go over Hwang’s Lifeforce.

Lifeforce is a special number that ranges from -9 to 9. Typically starts at 4 at the beginning of the match and does NOT restore between rounds, Many of Hwang’s abilities are tied to this including some special strings and all stance based attacks from B+K. Having an aura attached to these special life force attacks will alter the properties accordingly. It is possible to restore lifeforce through the use of the Gold and Blue aura-infused attacks.

Most of Hwang’s abilities, follow-ups and special moves can be used without an aura attached. But you probably will want one of these auras attached before you execute the certain moves because of the benefits attached to them. Luckily, there’s a number of special strings where you can either follow-up with an attack or attach an aura and fake your opponent out.

@Jaxel I’m having trouble getting to the website via Firefox. Something about a security issue. It’s making it hard to type stuff up here.

Put together a little guide with regards to Hwang. This is arguably the biggest pain in the ass character to try and explain:
