Installing 8-way gate into SF4 TE stick

Will the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate fit into the stick without drilling, etc?

yes, it is easily interchangeable

Is there a way of reducing the throw with an 8-way gate? I find that the 2-4-6-8 directions now require too much effort. Maybe a bigger actuator?
