Is Wi-fi responsible for those annoying freezes?

I apologize for my English in advance. ^^
I've noticed through chatting with various players after suffering a match freeze, that probably every single one of them is using a wireless connection for their PS3. I still ask if they are using it after every time a freeze happens.

Their answers led me to a personal conclusion that Wi-fi isn't a suitable way to connect a game console to the web (for this game, at least). I said " personal", because I am not exactly a technically savvy person. Maybe some of you are, and you can confirm my doubts.
If I am right, then maybe something ought to be done here. Like, advise people to connect their consoles directly to their modem, or better yet, ask Namco to include such an advice in one of those "Astral Home" tips. :P I don't know! Whatever you guys come up with.

If you do happen to start noticing the same phenomenon and get the same answers I got, then keep in mind that this thread exists. ;)

Haven't really asked when freezes occured in matches, but you are correct. A wired connection is generally always a faster and more stable choice than a wireless. In fact I cannot fathom at all why anyone would use a wireless connection for online gaming with a console and expect it to work well. It's not like one would expect to be carrying the console around the house from time to time either.

Because my modem is way in the other room and I don't have a non-sloppy way to run ethernet cable all the way over to my ps3.

My console is in the living room and the modem is in a separate room upstairs.

It would be nice to have the PS3 connected to the modem, but I have to settle with a wireless connection.

Well, there you have it. It seems a lot of people out there have a need for wireless in their homes, mostly due to circumstances, not by choice.

But still, absurd situations like this I think everyone should take into consideration. Two days ago I fought a guy from Italy (I live only 300-600 miles away from that country's nearest and farthest point), and still our connections never rose above 3 bars. And then when that sudden drop to 1 bar occurred, which stopped the match, I performed my "survey" on him and determined the truth. On the other hand, yesterday I fought someone from Holland (800-900 miles away) and it was a steady 5 bars signal all along. No freezes whatsoever.

It's unstable regardless of if you're wired or not.
You sure? Are you using...? ;)))

lol back when I was living in an older house I had my PS3 connected to a router so far away that it would get 40% max, living on a 30% was hard but it worked providing my PS3 did not move a single millimeter to the left or right otherwise no signal at all xD.
