What an awesome turnout, kinda...it was lots of fun as always and never a dull moment in any fights...The conclusion and finale of our SC4 League has been a very exciting one indeed. Congratulations to all our winners, and thx for supporting our community. This turned out to be an awesome leaguing event. It doesn't end here tho. This is just the beginning and a stepping stone for our community and now the thing we all gotta prepare for is regionals in Chicago which is 2 months away. So keep your fighting spirits strong...

My SC4 skill has deteriorated significantly but it's cool.

Also I used Akuma in 1 match vs Hogosha in the tournament, but I don't think he played that character at all.

Great tournament and ggs Jimmy. Get an A/V splitter to record DVD. Sorry but I seriously think that it was lagging, even if it was slight I can still notice it :(

GGs all around, everyone I played vs in SF4.

I think when Faellie learns how to use the Gouken reversals she could be a real monster in the game, because she's pretty damn good using them in SC4.


Also that one girl there was kind of cute, but then she left.
 
I didn't use Akuma in SF4. Just my crappy YouTube Sagat for like 4 matches against Bill in the finals and then Vega the rest of the time. Also, Christie's character was Gouken.

Bill -- Sorry I had to pull out top-tier in BOTH games against you. ^^; Gief made my Vega sad and I didn't wanna have finals go on for another hour. Felt kinda bad for knocking you out with Hilde, but I know it's only 'cause you were frustrated from the match before.

Jimmy -- SO close in the finals. Good games and a fun tourney as always. Hope you keep doing these tourneys, they're fun times and I'll definitely try to make it up to more of these. Feels so weird to see my name up there for the finals. ^^;;

Dan -- I think if I had to play you in the finals you might've had me. You only beat my Vega once in SF4 like all night I think but that one time was the key to you knowing what to do against Vega. Next time we play I'm sure you got me. And you're a beast in HDR. If I had any doubt before, that's gone now. You definitely have my backing in it.

Aaron -- Anytime you wanna play SF4 on XBL, lemme know. I really do still think you're better than me in SC4...and if you'd spent as much time with nearly any other character as you have with Yunsung I know I wouldn't be able to beat you.

Caleb -- SHADOW'S RIVAL! HAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAH!!!11oen Seriously, I don't think I've ever had to keep myself from laughing as badly as right then. I don't think we got to play AT ALL last night, which is definitely sadfaces for me. But yeah, don't know if it was Syxx who said to use Bison's stomp (charge down, up + kick), but it's good, especially for air-to-air. Buddy of mine here in town uses it against my Vega and it beats, literally, every one of his aerial moves as far as I can tell (at least the EX one). Play me on Live sometime.

Amber -- Keep reppin' Chun! Dunno if you play on Live or not, but if you do and want some practice against Vega lemme know. I'm on there way more than I should be.

PIKA: Good job, I'll give you a pat on the back. Your determination and unwillingness to give up paid off. Way to finish atop the Madison Rankings. Don't let ppl's moods affect how you play against them, cuz it'll bite you in the A$$, if it hasn't done so already...

Bill: You played well, but you let the fact that your moves whiffed on me, affect you too much, and you weren't there, but on a side note, you're going to nationals and I'm not, at least not yet, so hopefully, you get it together for Atlanta. Bret told me that Lizardman's 3B whiffs on other characters too, not just X, it's just that I have a duck strategy, that others don't...lol. WAY to tear everyone apart in SF4. That was funny.

Mikey: YAY, way to have a strong finish in both tourneys. You gave me a run for my money in the finals. Expect Madison to still have post-league tourneys and to also make a stop at your guys's BBQ, HAI HAI! Sorry I didn't pick you to be in the madison Reality TV show series, but I had no reason to eliminate you= you woulda won the PS3, prolly, but the other problem was that you can't come up to Madison all the time, and I need to get ppl that I know I can video tape and put down. I can't put Mikey down....IIE IIE!!!

Syxx: Yeah, tough fights. I apologize again for there being lag. I honestly never felt it b4, but I was more than glad to change stations or start over. Yeah Bill was a jerk for playing Zangief. It was quite apparent that you woulda won had you played with a higher tier character. Thx for making it to this one.

Outlaw: You have the skills to be a very good SC Player, I think you just need to relax and take a break from the game. That used to help Bill and me lots, when we were stuck in a rut, taking a break helps you rethink your strats. GRATS on winning the PS3 in your tier. BTW, you are now in Tier 1 Status.

Phil Bond: Thx for tagging all my photos, I was too lazy. You have shown progression and show lots of heart when you play. Too bad there couldn't be 2 winners for tier 2, but hey you already have a ps3 and xbox360. I hope to train you up more, so you can do well in regionals in Chicago. BTW, I think your Operation Sabotage worked very well, if I say so myself....

Faellie: Also thx for stopping by. 3BA works on Tomi forever, cuz he doesn't fall for setups or advanced strats, so just do simpler things and you'll make your job much easier. And he only does A throws....SHHHH!!! Turtwig, Turwig, nah, it's all about Piplup!!!

Pouncer: Interesting drawing and hilarious. You had my 2nd place vote. It was a different interpretation that can be seen as perveted, and as creative. Fun stuff.

Zac: Better luck next time. the draw didn't serve you well in the Street Fighter tourney, but I know you can get in that top 4 next week.

Max; Way to get top 4 in SF4. You should be happy with your result, you did really well. Hope to see ya this wk.
 
OMG so much hate for Zangief! Really, it only makes me want to play him more. Partially to show how stupid the game is and partially to show how AWESOME the game is :D

More seriously though, Good job to everyone that entered the art contest, it was not easy to judge. I wish you could all win.( i guess i was paula)

Jimmy: I always think i am very cleaver when i can make you duck. And i did, a couple of times. I thought the first whiff was a random mistake, but i was wrong. I knew hit detection was wierd in this game but that was a first and it did throw me off. You played very well, maybe the best yet. Honestly though, i wish out matches were online so i could see the mistakes i was making. You should bring the dvd to caleb's on Wednesday. Since i will be gone on the weekend i am thinking about coming up for some practice and watching lost. Also, i don't think i beat syxx purely on the fact that my character is higher tier than his. He beat me the first 2 fights and i came back to win. SF4 is not my first 2D fighter, i understand how to adapt to things. I got a history of beating syxx in tournaments too(hey syxx, remember that time i beat you in a DR tournament in the madison arcade? That was awesome)

M.C.: I might not of been all there in our losers finals match but you definitely were. Good Job! You evaded my rushdown with 9K and connected your launchers and landed your combos. The times i beat you before when you were hilde you did not play this well. Honestly, if you kept at it, you could qualify in chicago for nationals. Got a lot of time until then. According to Damien chi regionals IS going to happen. Jimmy and I could help you get ready no problem. GGs in SF4 too, you cheap Sagat counter picking bastard :)

Syxx: I would of let you play Akuma if you wanted to switch systems. I was proud of my win against you. It may seem like i am doing stupid simple things but thats because that is all i know. Mateo was the same way when he started SC2 and he got far as well. I bet, if we all wanted to, we could get to a point where our skill in the game could defeat the tiers of the game. Doing so in week 2 is kinda hard though. How those vids coming along seriously? Did you beat fLoE in your MM? OMG that music video is hilarious. I will introduce you to Sandi next time you both are at a tournament.

Faellie: I ended up playing against you the most in SF4. GGs GL on that Gouken, beware that once you beat my cammy, Zangief is right around the corner waiting to SPD you!

Outlaw: I did not watch you play calibur. Honestly, if your in a rut, learn a different character. Go to the forums and learn their combos and their mids and lows. Watch tournament videos of names you recognize playing that character. If you don't know who to watch, go to the tournament results page and find the people winning with that character and look at them. Sometimes i have to play rock against jimmy to figure out how to beat him with lizardman. Cause if rock can hit him, lizardman can kill him.

Phil Bond: Glad to hear you still want to have calibur tournaments. I do too. TY for picking me to be a judge for the art contest, i think the judging went really well. I might stop by on wed to hang out with you guys if thats cool. Maybe get some practice for my major this next weekend. Tough loss against shadow, though i bet he plays a lot more than you and cares a lot more about the game than you.

Ora: So, when are we going out for sushi? Grats on winning the art contest.

Jimmy with the same-week photo upload?!? Craziness. I wish I'd put more thought into the joystick photos. I've always loved how diverse our controller choices are.
 
Bill -- I'm confident enough with Vega now that I doubt I'll ever do something like that again. ^^; Also, his match against Gief isn't as bad as I thought it was. I think I just wanted to prove a point...which is that Sagat destroys Gief and that you need to use more green palms. Keep at it with Gief, though, regardless of who says what. And, as far as Chicago goes...I've been thinking about it for the last couple weeks. The main thing holding me back from it is that, well, I'm a Kilik player and my Kilik is getting stale. Seeing my Kilik get its ass reamed constantly on Saturday...well, it wasn't the answer I was looking for. I'll try to make a couple more tourneys in Madison and see if I can find that drive (and see if I can take some SF4 money while I'm there ;P ). I don't want to switch my main to Hilde unless that's the only way I'll improve my game.
 
M.C. : Honestly, I think 2 of kilik's worst match ups are X and Lizardman. But he can still do it. We will do some serious casuals next time your in town.
