Hey all...

Some people kinda know me on here I think? But I've only just actually signed up, I main Viola (and I'm really bad lol). I'm totally new to SC (as a few people will be aware) but I am trying to learn the game cos its proper fun :)

I just struggle so bad with the fundamentals, spacing, what's unsafe and what's the best practises etc...

Anyway I'm just saying hello to those that don't already have a clue who I am.... Also ANY Viola advice will be taken to <3 so feel free and err... ... ... ... ...

HELLO :)

Are there any really great Viola players out there yet, I wonder? There's been no shortage of discussion at Viola central here, but seems like it would take more than a few months to really master a character in this game. Keep at it and maybe you could be one of the first! :D

I'm getting back into the game too after a long, long break from the series. I try to learn about safe moves, which moves are fast enough to beat an opponent who's doing something else, etc. but generally I don't have time to actually think of any of that during a match. :p

Thanks for the reply :) I doubt I'll ever be a really great Viola player although she is the only character I actually am compelled to use (I thought about Tira and Hilde but Viola really captures my imagination, and I always really need to <3 the character I'm using or I just don't put the time in) so you never know :) ...

Yeah I have "in match" issues BADLY atm, I try and learn all this "cool" stuff and the ranges of my best/fav moves then I play someone and they just pressure me and all my hard work just goes to pot as I just start mashing on P or hold Guard for like a year lol...

Still I'm new to all this, its not only my first SC game but also my first 3D fighter, people say Viola is a bad choice and hard for someone not used to the game. However if I can get good with her then surely I'll have a good understanding of the game in general (and really she is the only character for little old me :) )

Well thanks for your message and good luck yourself getting back into the swing of things :) take care...

Welcome to 8WR! If you're looking for Viola tips, you could look at the Viola Soul Arena if you haven't already.

Thanks and nice to meet you :)

Sadly I'm on Xbox and from Europe so I doubt we can ever play :( Although I think I do need someone to train me lol

Back in ancient times of Soul Blade, my best characters were Sophitia, Misturugi, and Siegfried. I had no idea that Siegfried had now become the weakest character when I decided to concentrate on getting good with him. :p Despite that, I've had better luck with him so far than any of the others. All my online wins are with him and all my best arcade times. And I love my Siegfried-based created character! She doesn't look nearly as stunning in the shrunk down avatar picture as she does on my profile page, though. :p

I've been messing around with Leixia and Astaroth too, though apparently Leixia is another "weak" character. Allegedly, Pyrrha is really strong, and the closest thing to Sophitia I knew and loved, but I'm kind of turned off by her character, all her issues...

That's something I'm definitely interested in learning to do is pressure opponents the same way they usually do to me, though I can see how it would really help to have stronger instincts about what fast, short range moves to do when. I've been doing lots of arcade mode just to get used to doing more different kinds of attacks, hoping the right moves will eventually become second nature during online matches.

Sadly I'm on Xbox and from Europe
I'm also on Xbox 360, though the timing would indeed be a problem during weekdays. :p But feel free to add me if you want to take on someone who's not super competitive but also very interested in learning the game and improving. Depending where in Europe you're from, I may even speak your language too (I jump at whatever chances I get to practice.)
