New player trying to learn.

Whats good 8wayrun.
I'm trying to pick this game up, i played soul calibur is the past, but it was always on a casual level. Plus, i was young at the time.

I play a lot of 2d fighters like Third Strike, and KOF. But, i think those skills don't transfer over that well haha.

Is Pat' good for learning the game, i seem to have the best success with him. I originally was going to learn Aeon, but i feel he lacks the options that Pat' has.

He is a good beginner choice but dont go knocking Lizardman!! I'll always call him that haha his name now is Aeon but will be lizardman in my heart forever good beginners are Mitsurugi Siegfried Patrokolos Pyrrha and IMO Astaroth due to his attacks mainly being grabs people cant block much against him

I played some Astaroth's online, they just abused my lack of knowledge in this game. I have no idea how to fight that character.

Lizardman is fun as shit to play, but i feel like i have a uphill battle every match (already considering i still don't really know how to play).

I highly suggest getting a friend if possible and training with them in training mode you being player 1 and them picking up an extra controller and playing the "training dummy" both of you could fight and practice combos without having to deal with oh look we died time to start all over the only way someone can die in training is being knocked off so you could go at it for hours
