New to 8way run. been playing soul calibur for a while

Hey guys im fjphoenix. I main yun and cassie and i suck with both lol. My first soul calibur was 2 and didnt play it that much to understand the fighting engine. i just liked the rpg part of it and the fact that it was the only fighting game with weapons. i only played 2 for about two months before i picked up soul calibur 3 and i spent a lot of time in that game. i only played casually because my friends like to play shooters instead.

I didnt start taking things seriously until soul calibur 4. because of the online play i was able to meet a lot of players and play against different styles. i suck really bad so this motivated me to get better and finally i was able to play against a lot of people.

anyways i decided to try my luck offline so i went to the devastation tournament on phoenix, since i live there. the tournament was pretty cool, i played against a lot of players and while i did win matches i got my ass handed to me most of the time. when i was there someone mentioned this site and decided to check it out so here I am. ill be looking forward to play against you guys if anybody is interested.

Since you live in Phoenix, you're so lucky not having to travel across to be there. *pouts*

Heya man, sounds like you're all set to become a serious contender. That might sound awkward or patronizing, but seriously you've already found the guts to head to an offline tournament, that's a big step. I commend ya.

If you wanna find some more offline events you could do worse than to look here. I'd expect things to pick up when the new game hits. I know Lobo's in Arizona for one and he's a pretty good player.
