New to scv

Hey guys this is my first Soul calibur game. And my fighting game scene doesn't support this game at all, also i am not privileged with decent internet. Is there any tips i can get as a natsu player that i can level up i only really have 1 person who is interested in the game in my scene. I am a sf player if that means anything prob not though. firstly is there a good way to consistently beat mashers? all i have been doing is fishing for Counter hit 6B but thats just play sf counter poking.
