Newbie wants to learn SC2

Hello everyone! I'm from Croatia and excuse my complicated username, call me Theon.
I love fighting games but I never played Soul Calibur extensively. I want to learn SC2, where should i start? Are there any good guides?

Pocky Yoshi says hello and is pleased to meet you. Hate to break your hopes, but there's no Soul Arena on SCII characters. Meaning, I haven't seen it around here. However, if you check out the Soul Arena for characters of SCIV, you're bound to find veterans who specialize in a specific character that was in SCII. It's okay to PM them if you have questions.

The link to SCIV soul arenas is here: http://8wayrun.com/categories/soulcalibur-iv-soul-arenas.85/

Speaking of which, I have a few humble questions:

Who do you main?

Where do you live?

Are you hyped for SCV?

Are you casual or the competitive type?

And finally, would you mind telling a little more about yourself?

Thanks, I guess I'll have to bother some players on PM since SC2 isn't alive as it used to.

Currently I'm in the process of finding a main for me. Feel free to recommend them to me. I prefer fast characters and characters that require skill/knowledge. I'm the guy who loves a challenge.
This also answers your question - I always try to be competetive (I guess that is the reason why I don't enjoy new games with their user friendlyness and low skill ceiling)

As I said I'm from and still live in Croatia, if the city is what interests you it is the capital city - Zagreb.

Frankly, I'm not hyped because I haven't really paid attention to it. I've heard some good comments so I have my hopes up it wil be a good fighter. Unfortunately I don't own a PS3 nor will I probably ever own it (way too expensive here).

I don't mind telling more about myself but I'm more of a introvert and prefer to say things properly and when required. Other than that I also like books, movies and video games which could be summed up into - I love works of fiction. Good story is all I need to keep me entertained. On the music part, I like everything that sounds good to me but it usually comes down to rock, pop and other genres from before I was born. My favourite band is Duran Duran, but don't expect me to name the band members or know the lyrics of their songs completely. Although I have excellent memory I just don't pay attention to memorising lyrics.
Last but not least, my studies: As you can see from my signature I like Latin which I studied in high-school despite all the "Latin is hard" talk, but I'm a Computing student and I really like coding. I am making a game in my free time, if anyone is interested in roguelike genre feel free to check it out: http://roguebasin.roguelikedevelopment.org/index.php/Into_the_Dungeon_++

There, I've really outdone myself.

Seeing as nobody is going to be genuinely helpful (What with the SCII boards being completely devoid of useful information) I guess its time that I stepped in and pointed you in the right direction, friend.

Talk to Heaton, he's a Siegfried player and more importantly he's testing all the frame data for early SC games currently. Give him a bell and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. =)

*Now was that really all that difficult people?*

Welcome to 8wayrun!
I hope you enjoy it here.
What i like about SC 2 are Soul Charge, Soul Charge-Guard Breaks and -Unblockables.
You can also move while Soul Charging!
Also While Landing attacks.

Taki was excellent in soul calibur 2, truly she never had a finer moment than then she had execution cancel. Just a suggestion. As for your avatar, my regards to Mr. Jenson.

Thanks! (but I prefer first Deus Ex than Human Revolution) I'll be maining Mitsurugi or Taki. Today I'm going to hone my skills at a friends house, hopefully I will manage to take 1 game off of him atleast :D

Thanks! I just got back, it was an interesting experience. I really like the mechanics of the game (haven't played it before) and it seems I'm natural for fighting games although I played mostly 2D ones. I have really put up a fight. Now all I need is practice.
