Welcome back to the stage of history. We'll be playing consecutive tournaments with every game in the Soul Calibur series, starting with Soul Edge. Each tournament will be double-elimination with winners' brackets played on arcade versions, losers' brackets on console versions. Particulars will vary from game to game, but expect the oldest games to run in a shortened format. No characters are banned in any game.

To make it interesting, and to keep the riff-raff away from my apartment, each tournament will have a $2 entry fee, with 100% of the pot going toward cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. That means bring $10 in singles.

Soul Edge starts at 6pm, and each subsequent tournament begins whenever the previous one ends. My door opens at 5pm.

Tournament #1
Soul Edge ver. 1
Losers' bracket on PS1 Soul Blade

Tournament #2
Soul Calibur ver. 3
Losers' bracket on Dreamcast

Tournament #3
Soul Calibur II ver. D
Losers' bracket on Gamecube

Tournament #4
Soul Calibur III: Arcade Edition
Losers' bracket on Playstation 2

Tournament #5
Soul Calibur IV for Playstation 3

As far as food and drink are concerned: every man for himself.

Well... Maybe, but not until SCIV starts. That way it won't make it hard to navigate around the arcade cabinet, and we can still use the table for eating at for a little while. Would it be weird if I sanitized the kitchen and made room in there?

Haha bill. I c what u did thar.

EDIT: I keep moving up in this ladder. I'm like a sheep in wolf's clothing.

SC3 Arcade Edition on PS2...:/

Is there something I'm not aware of?

Damn it...why does this awesome tournament HAVE to be when I'm already in chicago for my screenz tournament (I'm head T.O there)...:(

I'll definitely try to come to the next tournament...

No, Webster. The losers' bracket version of SC3 that will be running on the PS2 will be the... (Wait for it. You know it's coming, but wait for it.) Playstation 2 version of the game. Good guess, though. You were close.

Any rule on banning VC or banning moves that were removed in arcade edition for balance issues? X's 66A+B comes to mind.

We're playing it straight. If you want to VC some crazy poltergeist throw setups and remind us what that was like, go nuts: but you should expect to be booed by the whole room.
