It will be ranked matches only.
This isn't as bad as it seems, though, because almost all of the people participating will be starting their journey down the "SC6 GOTTA GIT GUD ROAD" at the same time.

I wonder what the ranks are going to be, given that the last ones were the smple A1 and E5 levels. I wanna see how good i actually am. Tis been a long time since I played Sophie.

I hope they invest time into titles for ranks like Tekken has.
It’s cooler to say, “I’m a Seiryu ranked Miguel” than, “I’m an A1 ranked Astaroth.”
Also, didn’t virtually everyone end up being an A1 anyway? I don’t think I saw many people below A1 in the last days of my online play in 5.

I hope that each character has their own rank. Seems like a given nowadays but so did having button config on CSS
