This town needs an enema
Hey, I'm going to start streaming some SoulCalibur online. Right now I'm just going to be doing it for Xbox, but I'll go over to PS3 as well on some days. If you want to join up when I'm streaming just send me a message on Xbox, gamertag Its Enkindu.

Alright, I'm done streaming for now. This was just a dry run to see how it'd go and also it's pretty late. I usually play for hours and hours. I'll post up when I stream again. Possibly in a couple days. I know there are times when you just feel like watching some SoulCalibur matches live, so that's why I'm doing this. Thanks for tuning in!

Still streaming! A friend wanted to play some MvC3 but he quit after 3matches so I'm back to streaminig calibur.

Done streaming for the day. GG's to Woahhzz, DIME, Tanhauser, kikaleek, and all the rest. I'll post up again when I stream. Thanks for watching!

Sure. Firstly I use this for the hardware, it's an external capture card: http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1212-Definition-Personal-Recorder/dp/B0018LX0DY

What you do with this, is plug the PS3 or Xbox's HD component cables into the Input of the capture card, and then plug one side of seperate HD component cables into the output of the capture card, and the other side into your HD Tv. This will allow you play play on your TV while using your computer to stream the video. This specific capture card has a true passthrough so you won't experience any additional input lag from playing on your TV through the capture card. You'll just get a little from using the HD component as opposed to using HDMI. You can use HDMI, but it requries a seperate peice of hardware that runs about 50 bucks, but with that, you'll be able to play using HDMI which will reduce your input lag even more. Anywho, after you've set all that up, there is a USB plug on the capture card that you'll then plug into your computer. It uses USB 2.0 technology.

The HDPVR comes with a software program called Total Media Extreme. This is what you'll use to display the video input on your computer.

After this, you'll need two software programs. The first one being http://www.splitmedialabs.com/download which you'll use to capture what's being displayed on your computer screen, and the 2nd program will be http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/ which you'll use to take that captured video and stream to j.tv, ustream, or wherever you prefer, live.

That's pretty much it without going into details of settings and stuff. Hope it helps!

Well I'll tell you, 200 bucks for streaming no thanks.

I have a Dazzle and adobe FME, I got my justin.tv file and the hardware is all right, FME picks everything up, but justin.tv won't recognize the dazzle as a streaming option. It takes the line-in xbox audio, but when I select "Dazzle DC100" as a broadcast option it doesn't load and defaults back to "No camera."

I can go into detail about my hardware setup and I will because it's not like this will solve itself. Xbox has a visual RCA plugged into the dazzle, and Xbox has a direct line to the TV's audio, and from there a splitter carries it directly to my PC which is referred to as "Line-in." From there the dazzle is plugged in via USB 2.0 to my pc, where Adobe FME picks up BOTH video and audio. Justin.tv won't pickup the adobe FME stream, or accept the visuals from the Dazzle. It will however pickup the audio no problem, as the VU meter is telling me.

What the hell is going wrong lol.

Also if need be you can download this program called "TeamViewer" which allows people to view and navigate other peoples computers, which would let you for example, view all the settings and what not thats happening.

Sounds like you need to do what I do, and use software to display the video on your computer (like the video capture software that came with your dazzle kit) and use http://www.splitmedialabs.com/download to select the area where the video is, and then select the VHSCap as your device in FME. I'm certain that will work. If you need more clarification, I'd be glad to walk you through it personally.

Selecting where the video is, this makes no sense.
I understand what your trying to say but this VHSCap software confuses me. The video is in Adobe FME, it all runs in there fine but when i hit start it gives me errors stacked to the sky.

A clarification would be nice, use any tech terms you see fit i'll understand what you mean. Also I need to head out, so if you just wanna post or send me a message thats fine, i'll be back tomorrow and might check in on my ipod later tonight. Also if theres something you need from my end or another way of communicating or whatever just let me know and I can make it happen.

This video here will tell you how to set up your VHScreen Cap. You can watch the entire video from start to finish and it will give you the knowledge. http://youtu.be/yZWswJdUs9Y?t=9m28s

What he opened up was the VHScreen Cap Config. You can find this under the CHScreen Cap folder in your start menu. It'll be under the Hypmyoff folder or however that's spelled.

And then about streaming it to justin.tv is a problem aswell. Video aside because i believe mine works as in, how can I get it to actually be sent from FME to the website?

You'll need to go to justin.tv, log in, then click on this link http://www.justin.tv/broadcast/adv_other

Then scroll down to where you see FME, and click on the Config File. and save it to your desktop. go into FME, go up to File, select open profile, then select the document you just downloaded. It will auto-fill your account information into the proper sections so you can connect and stream with your account. Don't display this information on your stream as it will give everyone access to stream on your account.

NOTE: you will need FME 3.0 or newer to use this XML file. Older versions of FME have been phased out.

I have that file already it sets some things not others.
What about Backup URL, it doesnt fill any of that, doesn't pick my Dazzle as the source or anything. The sources I fix but what about the URLs?

You don't need to have anything in the backup URL.

Besides that, are you able to select your Dazzle from the pull down menu under "Device" in FME? If so, what happens?

It reads and displays my xbox live on both screens, from dazzle, with a line-in audio.

Oh ok. so you should be good to go then. Is there anything else that you're having problems with? Don't forget to save your profile when you've got settings set to what works best for you. That way you don't have to set them every time you want to stream.

Well the website wont show my playing, it wont let my dazzle be an option it just says no camera when i go to settings to specify video, its just a black screen.

You don't need to stream from the website. You are using FME to steam. once you click "Start" on FME, it'll start streaming to your j.tv account. You should be able to watch what you're streaming if you go to your j.tv channel, and you'll also be able to interact with the viewers as well.
