It's about time I post my creations, I've always wanted to do this but never got around to it. From my collection of create a souls I bring 13 of what I feel are my cleanest and most tasteful pieces.

That's all the create a souls I plan on uploading for now, if people like what they see I'll put up some more, but most importantly I'd love some constructive critisism so I can further increase my CaS abilities

Designs are all decent.. maybe try and use more pieces instead of the same ones over and over.

Colors could use a bit of work... maybe use colors in the 6 range of sat. instead of 9.

Dont be afraid to tinker with patterns either.. they can make two identical items look completely different.

TLDR; Stay away from 9 Saturation, use patterns, Red and Blue are tired. Cool Concepts.
 
Looks like the base ideas are good, but the execution is lacking a little bit. Creating a character that looks good is a bit like playing the game well: you have a degree of freedom to develop your own style, but you need to put thought behind what you're doing and make compromises to make it look good. You can't do exactly what you want both due to the limitations of the game's character editor and going on unrefined impulse leads to things that aren't exactly pretty.



Let's take a look at Jadyn for example. How about the colors? Were you aiming for something cartoon-y with her dress, or was it intended to look more like a character that belongs in the game? There's no wrong answer to that question, but if you were aiming for a character that looks like they belong in the game it would be better if the colors were softer and possibly a little bit faded.

One pesky thing is textures of different pieces don't necessarily match, such as the mini dress and the skirt on Jadyn. It's harder to tell in lower quality images, but in-game it sticks out like a sore thumb. This can often be remedied by applying patterns to one or even both items to make them match, but in some cases matching textures is impossible and it's better to use different, complimentary colors instead. I'm not sure which this is, you'll have to experiment yourself to see which is better. It'll definitely look better if you experiment with patterns to make the dress and skirt match or compliment each other :)

Stickers can really improve a character, but they need to have a clear purpose. On Jadyn, I see an example of a sticker that seems like it has a purpose(the arm tattoo) and one that does not(the skirt). When you're adding stickers, you've got to ask yourself: "why do I want this sticker and what it is it for?" The skirt sticker is confusing, it seems like it was thrown on for the sake of having a sticker on there.


If you'd be up for it, we could always discuss such things over matches. I don't know many players that are fans of character customization to create original characters, might be good fun to bounce ideas off each other. That, and I could show you some more examples of good ideas gone wrong that are just so bad they need to be deleted or so incomplete that...well, they need lots of the same stuff I just advised you to implement :P
 
To start this message I would like to thank d_b and Wandrian for their contributions and to say that I have taken into account your suggestions. But on to another point, I was wondering if some cool peeps could point out things that I'm doing right, things that people me gusta. Constructive criticism is awesome, but who doesn't like to bask in admiration every once and while? And finally to close, I plan on updating with some more pics of more characters later in the week.
