Troubles Understaning Punishment

Well Being a Noob and I mean that in the very most Im saying this is the first fighting game ive seriously looked into I am having some trouble understanding some things. I have read the Thread for the basic terms but when I started to read the Yoshi's Punishment thread that kinda through me for a loop

Well where to start...I guess by giving an example and trying to decipher its clues
Amy
3B i18 -15 KND KND = 6k2k

Well from what I can tell this means when Yoshi preforms "3B KND KND" Amy can Punish with a "6k2k" combo
Well the "i18 - 15" between "3B" and "KND" means thats is when Amy should use the "6k2K" Punish doing 18 to 15 damage.

Well that the point a view of a nubs mind and I kinda hope im wrong I was kinda hoping for a thread to concentrate punishment Yoshi can do to other character. I may even have the definition of punishment all wrong

Honestly Im a Noob soo you may want to explain it like i was a child infact that is probably for the best :P
Well Please be nice and thanks for the help

The 3b move is Amy's move. When Yoshi blocks the move he can punish with 6k3k. That is basically what is being said.

I don't know yoshi at all....but the punishment thing is simple once you get the hang of it. When a move is lets say -15 you can only punish it with a move that is i15 or faster. You have to block the move in order to punish it.

Before you look at a punishment list you might wanna know everyone's moves or at the very least know the moves your punishing and your very own characters moves too. Amy does not have a 6K2K that's yoshi's high kick to low kick although Amy does have a 6K236. The "i" in i18 means impact so basically.

i18 = how long it takes for the move to come out (18 frames).

-15 = Juece already explained that (to lazy to go into detail).

KND = Knockdown self explanatory 6K KND so why KND was put in twice I don't know unless it means 6K Knockdowns the opponent and the opponent is still knocked down when the 2K hits after wards or it could just be a typo.

My advice to you learn the basic terms of the game and know the basics of frame data before you get into punishing.
