What is up with all these Siegfried haters?

I've been playing SoulCalibur online for years but it wasn't until SCV that all these Siegfried haters started to pop up. I've been fighting players online who get extremely mad when i beat them with Siegfried. They claim that Siegfried is an overpowered character and send me a never ending supply of hate mail. I just get tired of these complainers and i thought i would make a thread to discuss the issue and share experiences of this hate. IMO he seems to slow and linear to be overpowered.
 
There's always going to be haters for silly trivial reasons. Hang around them too long, and you'll catch a disease called stupidity. Best course of action is to move from such matters and do you. I recommend you ask the Siegfried SAs on their opinion of him and/or people who know know Siegfried well.

Don't listen to those guys. Sure siegfried gets away with alot of moves online if there is a bad connection but 5 bars or preferably offline its a different story. I can tell you know tho at high level play you need serious good player ability and by that I mean able to make good reads, know the range of all your attacks and understand almost all the matchups. It takes a great deal of patience and yomi to use him at his full potential
 
well i'm not worried about my skill i'm a good Siegfried player. i just don't like people sending me hate mail because i'm good with him. my win ratios 74% with 170 wins around 60 is losses and i only use siegfried, misturugi and nightmare.
 
i guess it is but that's the only evidence i'm able to put up online i don't have a capture card. i'm not boasting i'm just supporting the fact that i'm a good player with the only evidence i have. i know win/lose ratios don't necessarily mean skill. but my point is i know i'm good with siegfried, i have won alot of matches with him against some very good players. i just don't like salty people sending me hate mail and bad sportsmanship. btw how did this thread get about me defending myself? i made this thread to better understand the hate for siegfried, and why people hate him and debate how others might disagree.

I think you should take the hate as a compliment. It shows how petty they are being and how they are jealous of how good you are. No offense to you being a Siegfried player but once you figure out his moveset, his attacks are pretty easy to dodge or block and is in no way overpowered like other characters on the roster. Just don't let the hate get you down, it's not your fault you're so good at the game :)

I think a lot of people simply conclude that any character who beats them is overpowered. People've even complained to me about Leixia being overpowered.
 
To be quite honest with you, Siegfried is one of those characters that no one really agrees where he places in tiers. Even just within high level tourney players, I've heard everything from " he's the worst character in the game", to "he's very strong".

One thing I can say for sure is that not a single person with any competence in the game whatsoever is claiming him to be high tier, let alone OP.

My opinion? He's kinda average. Personally I think the only character that can legitimately be called OP is Viola, but even saying that will land you in a heated flame war most likely.
