I know that, I just think basic palette swaps are a waste of a character select option, and a boring way to show variation when instead they could alter the fundamentals of the outfits, or remake non-CAS costumes that appeared in all the other SC games.

I see where you come from, but if it's well designed it could be sick. I don't know if you tried SF4 or SF5 before but it's well done in those games imo. Here's to get an idea @1:00

2 default outfits + a bunch of colors for each seems like enough to me.

I guess I'm just a greedy bitch and would rather have Sophie's SC1 P1, SC2's P2, SC3's P1 and P2, Sc4's P1, and a new P2 and P3 from SC6 as unlockable outfits that are readily available for tournament use than just her skirt changing from white to orange lmao.

If two slots are dedicated to "random" and "create a soul" then it will be smaller than even the SC1 roster, though that's counting SC1's mimics.
"random" can be activated by pressing start button, "create a soul" can be activated by pressing select button. It's better than take two character slots.

I'm now sitting in my work office and watching all-new gameplay's that are posted today on YT. Productive day, hehe ;) After every video I get more hyped and want to see other characters! Here's something for Sophitia fans - 10 min mirror match with face sitting, loose hair and crotch kicking; unfortunately without sound:

You *are* a greedy bitch and you should be ashamed.

Seriously though that would be great but not really reasonable to expect.

Step seems worryingly good in this game. I hope it doesn’t devolve to some sort of degenerate game of chicken where lack of any tracking means it becomes a glorified game of chicken.

I do like some footsie goodness, but I hope the game becomes ‘my buttons vs your buttons,’ and not ‘whoever attacks first ends the whiff with their opponent in their ass.’

Hmmm... seriously - i am not a fan of meterless guard impact, never was - - -and now we have a second defensive mechanic, that can be easy spammed across the board.

In another gameplay vid, i saw that the Guard Impacts "cost" soul gauge (at least it looked like it) - if this is the case it is a fine replacement for the meter cost.
In my opinion, the possibility to punish a fail guard impact or Reverse Edge isn't really a negative aspect - because that is just the basic risk of a movement and those defensive abilities are pretty strong/impactfull, because they turn the pacing of the fight.
There needs to be a cost/limitation - but in they just overdid it in SC5. If Guard Impact would have cost 1/4 of a meter bar it would be fine by me.
But i also like the idea to bind GI "cost" to soul gauge, and i hope they add something similar to Reverse Edge.

Edit:
Sorry forget that RE costs high amount of Soul Gauge on blocking moves and it can break.

IIRC when they first revealed Tekken 7 they did it with Kazuya vs Heihachi, two characters that had rivalry since the first game and the whole main story revolves around them. Is there anything important about Mitsurugi vs Sophitia relationship?

Lol but yeah I know it seems unreasonable, though who doesn't want new and improved legacy costumes? They're going the whole nostalgia approach, we're literally going back in time, I don't see why they couldn't do it (though if they do, they'll probably do it as DLC and I'll cry whilst going bankrupt to fund my unhealthy CAS obsession.)

Look, there will be at least 21 characters, not 20. There is another slot in the middle as you see - Boss character?
maybe costum or random, also therer are 4 more possible slots ( if you see the circle in the background as the limitation of the Selection screen)
